I went out there hiking with my dad when I was about 15 that was 26 years ago the old lady that allowed us on her property had boxes of military buttons and digging tools her late husband had found over the years. There was a battle with the dragoons near by and when they were digging a pond they dug up two soldiers. Pretty rugged area I got poison ivy the worst I have ever had there its a rough area and high mineral content that my metal detector didn’t like at all. I wish I had kept in touch with her im sure she has passed by now so no telling who owns the land now. Very creepy out there at night. Thanks for the video.

I'm not going up against diablo for that gold he's guarding. Something tells me there is still more to find there, too bad it's surrounded by private land. Or? Maybe not, because it would be torn up by people still looking for the gold. Cool story.

Dogmen, those mountains are full of them and they are man killers and worse.

Those mountains are notorious for Dogmen. No joke.

I had several encounters in 71 on tresure creek near the small lake.It felt like something watching from the woods after dark. Then piercing red/orange eyes 50 ft. away, at least 7ft. high between two trees. Made my hair raise and I left to camp miles away.

@@texasredneckhippy I believe you and it probably was a Dogman or maybe even a Sasquatch. What other animal could do that?

@alextaylor8776 5 minutes before my to close encounter, the whole valley had gone silent, the a weird sound from a hundred yards to the west. It sounded like a turkey was grabbed and killed. Unsettling, but I decided it was probably a mountain lion grabbing a late supper. Later it all seemed related. I hiked remote backcountry there hundreds of times since and rarely have I felt being watched that intensely. Thanks for the reply...

@@texasredneckhippy You mentioned "Treasure Creek". Was that Treasure Lake in the National Wildlife Refuge? Or were you referring specifically to Devils Canyon?
