Thanks, yes Game Guru Max uses (parts of it) professionally, and there are also some other hobby projects from other people in the works.

How does volumetric light from a video works? Some sort of volume tracing?

Same as ray marched volumetric light, but a secondary shadowmap for transparency is also taken into account (the videos are placed onto transparent surface in front of the light). There is a blog about it on the wickedengine.net website called "Easy transparent shadow maps".

is there a way to change editor camera controls? free look with middle button is so disorienting :/ literally every game engine does it with right click
