What a joy to see such magnificent watches. Thank you so much. The hidden amorous enamel painting was a wonderful surprise. It reminds me of a great story concerning Pope Pius IX who was on a state visit to France in the mid 19th Century and a high ranking french government official who was notoriously anti-Catholic, was seated near the Pope at an official banquet and he sought to embarrass and insult His Holiness by mockingly offering him snuff with a snuff box which when opened depicted a painting of a naked woman wantonly displayed on the inside of the lid. The Pope glanced at the picture and charmingly said to the politician; “Your mother I presume?” An inspired riposte!
