Wicked Garden Coven Review - Lemax Spooky Town NEW for 2023 

What an awesome piece

The Wicked Garden Coven is my first time purchasing anything like this. Prior years I would admire but never indulge. This year I decided to go down that rabbit hole with the rest of you. This is a great piece and the clencher for me was the music and character voices. It sounds like something off a Disney movie.

I wasn’t going to purchase this one when I saw it initially in your livestream when the lineup came out but once I saw it in real life I couldn’t resist! It’ll match my witch cottage I got last year perfectly !! Keep up the great reviews

I finally got it! I’m so happy! I love it. Even the back is gorgeous! The little Wanda’s cottage looks perfect with it. 🧙‍♀️🍄🎃

That is an awesome piece, and great size. This should be the centerpiece of any with village. It even has a decent soundtrack, which is not always the case.

Had me grinning like a big kid watching this building. I could imagine going round ‘guising’, as we called it in Scotland when I was young, and if this building was in someone’s house I’d be in a trance watching it. It’s just perfect ❤

I think you made my mind up. I have 4 villages this year and this will be 5.

This is the piece that started my village hobby this year. Absolutely love it. I found out about this hobby last year, almost started with the Bats Bonanza but so glad I decided to wait till this year.

This is probably the only one I'm getting this year since Michael's won't have the aquarium one. Looks so much better here than in the pics I saw before. (well, maybe some of the cottage pieces I might get when they're down to buy one get one towards the end of the season.) (Also jealous of the 40% off, lol... up in Canada we only get the 30% off one item ones these days.)

This was one that grabbed me when they first announced the exclusives. I’m so glad that I didn’t buy the Witching Hour because it looked so close to the tower but this one is so much better imo. ❤

Great review and really great piece! Similar to your feelings on this piece, I got the haunted estates facade a few days ago and it absolutely blew me away, it’s super good. I wasn’t too huge on the facades and passed on Raven Hill last year, but my opinion is officially changed. As for this piece, everything you said is spot on and I think it is definitely the best of Lemax’s “purple roof witch line” they’ve had for the last few years (I’m sure you’ve noticed the one glaring similarity that Lemax puts on all these witch pieces besides the flying witch animation-the distinct purple shingles-that really ties them together, which is why I call the “line” that). Congrats on 10k soon, and see you in the next review, I am excited to hear your opinions on everything!

Great review man and very cool piece! I'm mulling over doing a witch theme this year as well. This along with the clock tower they did a couple of years ago are some of lemax's best witch buildings IMO.

I went to get the facade because I instantly fell in love with that one, reminds me of my childhood & it’s absolutely beautiful but this one also caught my attention!! I love this piece & the soundtrack is so good. I wish they weren’t as expensive. I prob would’ve picked it up but I only had 40% off one item & needed the facade 😆 maybe if I get another coupon hahah I’m upset with the smaller buildings being so expensive, like Samantha’s supernatural yard decor, was not expecting that to be $70 😟 but I’m really impressed with spooky town this year & glad that the stores are setting up the displays again! Hopefully they go on sale before selling out 😆 as always, thanks for the review!!

Congratulations on the new home and it’s good to see your videos again. This piece caught my attention too and I don’t do a witch theme or really have very much in the way of witch pieces. It looks good even from the back unlit, but of course looks really amazing lit and in motion. The soundtrack is not great but it’s not the worst either. I agree that it has a very traditional feel which is why i like it. I will still resist purchasing but I was very surprised at how much I liked it. Good review as always.

This was my top pick of the season. It’s so pretty with the purple roof and fuchsia lighting. Do you think that might be colored smoke coming out the chimney vs a flame?? Reminds me of the colored smoke coming out the witch cottage in Hocus Pocus. 💗💜🖤💜💗

Darn you Doug :) Now I want this one. Your video really shows this off SO DIFFERENTLY than Lemax's video. This is why I appreciate these reviews. 40%? Dude, Where? I was scouring day one (even up to today) and only found a 20% off at most. Michael's Lemax prices have gone WAY OUTTA CONTROL this year. That's why I skipped on the Dungeon of Terror. I did pick up the Haunted Estates (thank goodness for at least 20% off) and the Grime and Slime. I would've picked up more, but these prices are getting ridiculous. Not to say the pieces aren't cool, though :) Well Doug, your video sold me. Wicked Garden Coven may be coming home :) vgv

Great review again, Doug, and congrats on the move and your workspace! I may have gotten this one (my wife likes witches even more) but we have already gotten a few large pieces this year. Where I think Lemax missed the boat, and I'd have to fix it is the very smooth platform the circling witches are on. They could have done some texturing on that platform so it didn't look like they were gliding on ice. They have a variety of textures they've used in other areas like that. But otherwise, I think it's the best witch piece I've seen, and I have many of the older ones.

Hey! Random question, I can’t tell in the video but does the top of the well also move with the skeleton on yours? I had to buy the display at michaels because it was the last one and the top of the well on my feels a little loose and it moves whenever the skelly goes in and out of the we’ll both sure if it’s just mine or all do that? Thanks!!

Had it ordered from Michael's, but the ring that the witches spin on (in and out of the building on bottom floor) gets stuck and stops spinning. It makes an obnoxious clicking sound also. Any 1 2 3 fixes on that?
