@@user-rm6jg5ir1s He dropped one album solo and it was not his style I liked from before although it crossed over to the mainstream and yes it did sell a lot (Outkast was way better IMO but that is a different subject). Face has many classic solo albums to his name! Consistent and longevity, definitely a top 10 legend IMO and the real King Of The South as I said if we are talking overall. BTW I don't just look at sales in the mainstream for who I think is best, he crossed over with the Pop records and yes it sounded cool but give me Face anyday....... That being said I was a HUGE OUTKAST fan, their first three albums to me are classics! I love Andre do not get me wrong, him and Big Boi are legends.

My criteria for greatest would be: 1. Cultural Impact (Did you change or introduce a new state of reality and/or is your music still resonating with the culture) 2. Lyrical Prowess (How well and creatively do you put words together) 3. Content (Are you talking about something that is thought-provoking that moves humanity forward)
I always said it’s all preference and you have to have categories to list out the best rappers of all time. Here’s some : 1. Lyrical Ability 2. Cultural Impact 3. Sales/Streaming numbers 4. Song Making Ability (Vibes etc)

This is one of those things that has no definite answer , being as though there’s no specific criteria so it’s always going to be based on opinion. In our society, the greatest is the one that’s most popular.
Nas is the goat. He’s been in longer than Wayne has and is still putting out bangers. I never understand how Nas doesn’t get the recognition he deserves especially since he came in the game at 17. I hate these top five debates because there will be regional bias from all regions.
I co-wrote a book in 2013 called GOAT 50. We came up with a math system to create our GOAT rankings. If you seriously want to figure out who may be a GOAT, you need criteria. At the time of our book these are the criteria we rated them individually for: lyrics, subject matter, technique/flow, delivery, impact, originality, consistency(discog), charisma, growth, and single catalog. This gives you a chance to critique the overall artist instead of picking one aspect of their skills.
It ain’t no way Snoop catalog is better than Scarface. Not to mention, T.I. having one of the best catalogs in HipHop history. He deserve to be ahead of most of the people thrown around in “Top 5” conversations. Especially Eminem.
I know whoever made this list is not from the East Coast. It sounds like somebody from the West Coast getting back at the East Coast because the East Coast always put their artist up there.
I agree with B High. I put Andre over Scarface. I also agree that Andre wasn't a dictionary rapper. A dictionary rapper would be someone like Aesop Rock, Lupe Fiasco (sometimes), Canibus, or Cambatta. I also feel like Andre is one of the greatest due to his lyrical prowess and content. He is creative and doesn't waste words.
I'm pretty sure that this list has a bunch of folks who kinda listen to hip hop. Nobody will put snoop at the top but we cam all agree that he's recognized by people who don't even listen to hip hop
All criteria should be considered. Lyrical ability, influence, record sales, body of work, solo and group success should be included as well. I believe you gotta have at least a moment in time where your name was mentioned all the time. My goat will be Scarface and Wayne

3000 is my fav of all time! And I’m biased. 3000 has a better flow and a lil more versatile than Face, but when it comes to catalog and longevity, I’d pick Face. Face been rappin since like 86 Scarface is really probably top 2 in storytelling with Nas.
