Part 1 of a series of discussions with Taylor Adkins, @CNoumena, and @YAgamben on Jean Francois Lyotard's Libidinal Economy (1974). Lyotard referred to it as his evil book, and it was a major influence on Nick Land.

Thx for the stream. Just a quick note to 19:01 ... No :-) living is the ongoing connecting of desiring machines. There is no passivity when all needs are met. But I am only following anti Oedipus here... I hope this makes sense. ... By the way, I am really grateful to find anything in lyotard here🥳

Hey! Thanks for the content guys. It’s great stuff. So you guys mentioned Lyotard’s “Discourse, Figure”, “Libidinal Economy”, and “The Postmodern Condition”, but you never mentioned “The Differend” which is supposedly his best book, according to himself. But there aren’t too many discussions online about that book. Perhaps you guys will address the book later in this Wicked Lyotard series? The only Lyotard I’ve read is Postmodern Condition, but I have Libidinal Economy and The Differend sitting on my bookshelf. I’ve been taking a detour through Debord, Baudrillard, and Fisher while I decide how to approach Lyotard. I will take your advice and read Freud’s BPB before attempting LE. I was hoping not to have to read D&G until further down the road. I want(ed)to read Deleuze on his own first. From everything I’ve heard, Anti Oedipus will take me a year to get through. Anyway thanks again- I can’t wait to finish this series on wicked lyotard.

funny that you mention it because we almost did an episode on it recently. need to cover some kant before we tackle it as it's much more structured than libidinal economy.
