YES!!! The play is that beautiful. Theres a lot of magic and things that are difficult to do in a live theater setting but sonehow its just as magical as the trailer. Seeing the witch fly for the first time always made me so in awe as a kid.
I saw Wicked for the first time on Broadway and it was an utterly transcendent experience. Since then, I've seen it 3 more times at various venues around the country, but nothing will ever surpass the first Broadway show. SUPER stoked for this film!
Wonderful reaction!! Wicked is one of my favorite musicals of all time. It was adapted from the book that came out in the 90s. Yes, she knew she was green Elphaba was being sarcastic. I highly recommend watching The Wizard of Oz (1939) and the musical. The stage show pulls mostly from the 1939 movie and specific plot beats from the book. It's such a beautiful and powerful show. It's been running since 2003. I've seen it live 7 times.
