The Into the Woods movie had some strong points, but it was ultimately a disappointment compared to the stage version. The movie killed most of the comedy and it totally undercut the darker themes of the second half (can't have a Disney-produced film killing off an official Disney princess, apparently). If you wanna experience Into the Woods the right way, you should be able to find the professional taping of the original cast here on RU-vid! It's fantastic.
