This is why there’s so much hardship in Ghana because if i have money and want to invest and creat jobs and then have to go through all this ball crap, I better donate that money to charity .. smh 🤦🏾♂️
One time a friend of mine sent me a disc player and some clothes. These idiots at the post office charged me almost $100 to take it out meanwhile the total of the item was less than $50. Meanwhile I knew some guy that could go and get packages at the post office for free because he had a connection with an officer there. That stupid piece of shit country . I never miss it
I had the same experience when my brother in the USA sent me like 4 tops and a Jean..Item cost like $100 but end up paying 3 times that price at the post...very funny country.
Ohhh… you were even considered menua😀. I once got a pack of 50 blank cds, the charge was so so high I left it there with anger. Nkwasiasem nkoaaaaaa. It won’t change because of the corrupt nature the nation has been built on.
He's right. Ghana duty is very very high. I still don't understand why our leaders charge high of duties but they never use the money to develop the nation. Asonaba Kwabrafoso Obuasi
Common sense should tell u guys on this platform the guy meant customs service, am tired with your hypocrisy on this platform trying correct him, meanwhile your common sense tells you what the guy meant
It’s ridiculous how high the duty is in Ghana, he’s so right- abuse nkoaa and the sad part is we don’t even use the money for innovation of the nation but rather into peoples pocket
Yes true my sister most of the money goes to peoples pocket and that is why Former late President Atta Mills said that custom officer works at harbor for two to three years and they are putting up mansions and the same people will say that Government need to fix the road, hospitals, schools etc, etc and they forget that they are the same people raping the Country of its revenue.
@@ekowdaniels1837 please, stop associating Ghana public servants who have jobs and duping the country with the high unemployed youth. From top to bottom ALL Ghana institutions are corrupt, furthermore if the government refuses to enforce its laws who's fault is it? Those who benefit from the bad system think everything is OK, those who suffer want the system to work
@@Addyfuncreator he rather transferred them. He didn’t sack them. I think the best thing is invoke curses on them. If they start dying one after the other… that shit SHALL stop.
@@DonAristoGozozo oh yeah, because man no go go suffer for abroad then you want come take one hour come take my goods or to pay unnecessary money. I always dey handle my agblagba whilst my priest be waiting for me to take out my goods. They taught we were joking, one officer tried to bully us thinking we were just joking, within 3 days we got a call to come for our goods immediately. Massa who tell you say man no dey. Now dem dey ho ibeg. Siaaaaa dem think say idey easy abroad.
Ghana err you will cry. Not to flex, but myself the duty alone have paid on cars can establish businesses to help mother Ghana. Everything he’s said is nothing but the truth.
Masa shutup, do u no wat goes on in there, Guess u part of this corruption, do u know how much I was charge by so many people, immigration, customs and national security charges….
If you ever visit the Port for your goods, you will swear on your life to never step foot there again. The bribery and thievery at the port is a daily ritual. Officials use eye gauging system to charge goods other than cars. Even so, duty on cars are through the roof. So all day, agents are negotiating with officials for fair charges. If you don't have the heart, never step foot at the port to clear your goods. Let an agent handle for you.
What he is saying is true I use bring use TV,s fridges and systems I stopped because of all the people want something and even when the truck has left the port if the police stops and you show them the paper work they don't want to know all they want is money
When i hear these things then i bore, Ghana Habour and Airport is making the country soooo difficult to live in. Buying online alone is a whole problem on it own, after that shipping then duty
Ghana duties de3 no no is too expensive I shipped 3 containers of medical equipments from China for My hospital in Accra I paid over $30,000 for only duties meanwhile our neighbors Togo is duty free no don’t pay a dime
So duty is supposed to be charged based on the purchase price of the car 🚘 but Ghana 🇬🇭 charges duty based on the value of the car regardless of how much you bought it. So cars bought at auction or dealership may incur same charges. That aside they now use engine capacity, year of car, make and model of car to charge duty. So your luxury cars will be paying more. Now they charge you Covid 19 levy 1,000 Ghs or more, Getfund levy etc lol 😂 if you see the breakdown in charges you will be shocked 😳. You can buy a car for $1,500 and pay $3,000 to clear it in Ghana 🇬🇭
@@kd-bv4my challey wish it’s that easy. Home country offers some satisfaction that that the West can’t provide regardless of how developed the West is, so the goal is to keep pushing and fighting and hope things will change. Thanks for the reply my brother.
@@TheSENYO hope gets you nowhere and nothing. If you want change you're going to have to fight for it. Here is a thought everyone stop sending things back home for 4 months, watch how quickly they start to act right. Nothing will change because some people benefit from squeezing you. Know your economic power and use it.
@@beyawnmortals9148 that’s a powerful way to deal with the situation if we all get on the same page 📄. This will shake the government to reduce the duty and come with a clean way of clearing goods from the port. The question is can we all get on the same page?
It is time to make documentary on those at the port. They did they same thing when I had to get my car and a few items from the Tema port. They charge 60000 ghana for accident range rover
The Government should spell out EXACTLY the procedures and COST involve for any item ship publicly for National debate. If not those at the harbor will continue to be stupid.
In 2017 I wanted to start business in Ghana, I brought a 20 ft container to test the market. In fact the hardship, money and time wasting, at the port and bribes I was forced to pay I have since changed my plan. Multiply this by number of potential business people who may have gone through the same. When I came I was happy to how many you got employed but I had to promise myself never ever. The lost and waste was too much.
Exactly what I've been saying, individuals using government institutions as their own private business, why would anyone bring anything to help develop the country when this is going on? i thought the president said he was going to change all of this? what happened MR President? its sooo sad
They've got nerves, most of the mattresses I see thrown out abroad are 90% in better condition than some people sleep on in Ghana, that is even if they have a mattress to sleep
Whatever the shipper is saying is absolutely 💯 true. After paying 162,000 cedis for duty still I have to pay Ecowas levy, covid 19 fee, national security fee, clearing fee, goods in the car fee oh Lord. I will not ship to Ghana again.
Thanks for the insight.Eeiiii Ghana we are our own enemies. All money goes into individuals pockets at the Port. Port and Airport GHANA we are our own enemies.
The only painful thing is that all those money will not go to government,,else high import duties on certain goods is rather a good thing in order to encourage patronising of locally manufactured products
@@lackergh2921 I know stuff are manufactured in Ghana I only asked that question because, of what good it a locally manufactured product if its too expensive for a common Ghanaian to buy as compared to the imported ones? Assuming there’s a ban on importation of used cars in Ghana to make people buy cars manufactured or assembled in Ghana .. people will start riding horses again because majority of the us Ghanaians can’t afford it..
I know you give her number out in some of your videos but can't find them . Please help me with her Number 🙏 would have come to the church if I was in Ghana please help
You're talking about something bad going on under this government, don't try to equalize it to opposition. We voted for a better not what we are seeing now
When I watch a video like this, sometimes I feel very ashamed to be a Ghanaian. What a joke country 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️corruption and bribery everywhere.🙄
