Masked vandals dressed in black targeted restaurants and shops in several shopping malls on October 13, 2019, as Hong Kong's anti-government protests entered their 19th week.
Restaurants belonging to the Maxim's food chain had their windows smashed and were spray-painted and businesses with links to mainland China were turned upside down.
There were also several violent confrontations between riot police and protesters, including an incident in which one officer was slashed in the neck from behind.
Other protesters disrupted traffic by building barricades, dispersing before police arrived to remove them, and then returning to block roads again.
