His speach is so clear! I followed his story for a while and can't belive how well he adapt. I am happy for him, but also very sorry for the loss of the woman. Huge respect for her meeting him, I think it must be very difficult.
My God. Hats off for sure to the surgeons who were able to give back his life. Absolutely amazing job reconstructing the bones of his face too. Not just the skin part. Incredibly satisfying for them I imagine. 56 hours is a long time in surgery for them. Glad everyone came through it well. Thumbs up for all involved.
My boyfriend passed away two years ago. There wasn’t an option for donating his face, if there were and it gave someone else a new life that would have been a beautiful thing. However, I honestly don’t think I could handle meeting the recipient.
That's an honest answer...and I think it would be hard for anybody to deal with that, yet still a good gesture to help someone else to live a healthy long life , although unfortunate, it is good thing...and this guy came a long way...these doctors are doing miracles.

Same thatd be too much for me.. Even though it is an amazing thing to do, dont know if id be able to see it... Im so sorry honey about your loss. My boyfriend is eveything to me. Hes my bestfriend. Even the thought of losing him makes me almost have a panic attack.. Hes been with me through everything hes all i have now.. My parents overdosed recently and hes all i have now. Youre so strong and im sending all my love your way.
I can't even imagine how she must feel ,or him for that matter. Holding the child of the man's face youre now wearing. They're both strong people and I hope that Life blesses them with happiness.
I wonder how Lilly Ross been doing?... she’s a amazing, doing it all on her own with their beautiful baby.. she does look strong somewhat. Wish what happened to him didn’t happen. I hope one day she’ll find someone someday, maybe she did! Such a sweet person she is! So giving that she did for transplant recipient!
He looks perfectly fine ! Usually the face transplant people look really quite bad unfortunately... but he looks really normal . Weird thing , but he a actually looks better than the guy that actually had the original face !
This story really, really got to me. Just heartbreaking. They didn't provide a lot of details about the husband, Rudy's, suicide but that young woman was only 19 years old and 8 months pregnant when it happened. I just can't imagine. So brave, but then, she didn't have a choice. We can all count our blessings. She lost her high school sweetheart/husband/father of her baby at such a young age. Life is not fair.
It's amazing how well this transplant worked out, I watched a video ages ago just after he received the transplant and yeah sure it was a drastic improvement to the poor guys appearance but it looked a bit like a mask his mouth and lips really had no movement and he couldn't talk properly, but now it looks like the face belongs to him his mouth and lips look normal and his speech is great, even the scarring doesn't look bad, this type of surgery has come so far in the last 15 or 20 years, makes you wonder what will be possible in the coming decades.
This is so heartbreaking, I'm glad he's able to find use and have a better life. But this is really sad... They could stop playing the background music and maybe it wouldn't feel so sad...
*this is insane* .. why would you ever put yourself through meeting the person.. yes it went to someone who needed it but it would be soo heartbreaking at the same time and i would imagine youd feel a sense of closeness.. like dude "i once kissed those lip and those cheeks" as if you wouldnt want to be close to this guy because in a way its part of your husband that you lovedddd.. i know id find it hard to ever part from this man after meeting him if he had the love of my lives face.. 💔
Bella Garcia they meant being proud he helped someone else have a life that they aren’t ashamed of. Yes he won’t be in his sons life but he helped someone else live their life in a way they feel proud of. So you misunderstood what they were trying to say
This is a brave thing to do but I can't imagine how her child will feel seeing his dads face on someone else and no matter how old he will be ,that is alot to deal with .

No I don't. But obviously you are not aware of such a thing as boundaries. It would be unhealthy for so many reasons...for him for her for the child..I could write a thesis on the topic. Not sure why people are allowed to meet the family of donors. VERY VERY bad idea.
