This time I am going to explore an other trek from the book Country Walks in Malta by Johann A. Briffa . This trek takes me infront of the Birzebbuga Parish Church, from here I will make my way along the beutiful country roads to Zembaq Valley , then to amazing Loreto Chapel, back inside this beautiful valley and then visit Casa Ippolito, a 17th century farmhouse, that lay in ruins but with a tragic story tied to it. A hike suitable for all the family

Thanks Pierre for sharing an interesting walk vlog in the southern part, commencing from Birżebbuġa going through Żembaq Valley and more. Pleasant country views can be encountered all the way breathing fresh unpolluted air while appreciating some building, farms and more picturesque small old chapels. That area is not very far from where we live but have to admit we never had the opportunity to walk along that beautiful trek. Thanks to you and Prof.Briffa for helping us all to see and appreciate the amazing country space we still can enjoy. Well done and thanks again.👍👍

The village where we live is Wied il-Għajn, all of the archipelago of Malta is all so beautiful and amazing to enjoy including the southern part too, Thanks@@PierreFarrugia

Another great vlog Pierre.what a shame that that house was left in such a bad derelict state. The valley that you took us along,I never heard of it. Thanks for a beautiful vlog showing us our scenic rugged landscape. I hope that the hikers and ramblers in Malta and also visitors buy the book as it looks amazing and must contain some amazing walks. I believe that is the best way to see a country like Malta , especially with the amount of sunny weather Malta has during the year. Thank you again and I hope you enjoyed your birthday.👍🇲🇹Sahha

Another beautiful walk. Pleasant weather and lovely scenery. Far better than here in Yorkshire England 2 degrees and freezing. I wish I was there.Such a lovely Country, Hope to get there later this year.

It is a really nice walk in the countryside when Malta is green. I only know Malta during summer when everything is dry. Regards, Ivan from Belgium.

Thanks and kudos for the book! Can I just ask re the QR codes on the maps? Is scanning them supposed to show you the route, or mark the starting point for you? I just got the book and scanned a couple but all it seems to do is open Maps in the general area, with no markings.

@@chriszarb1812 the QR code is a pin for the start location only, not the whole route. When you open that in Maps on the mobile, it will identify the location and you can click directions to get driving or public transport directions to that point.

Just got this book today! Planning to do this route this week as I live in B'Buga. Just out of curiosity. Did you try scanning the QR codes? When I did all it did is open Maps and display Birzebbuga. No markings/ routes.

The cross near the chapel is a 'Dejma Cross'. They are spread around Maltese villages and they were rendezvous points for the Tad-Dejma maltese militia in case of a raid or attack on Malta.

Pierre, Pluribus Parens means “ mother of many children” These “children” are Safi, Kirkop, Ħal-Farruġ, Luqa, Mqabba, Birżebbuġa and Tarxien. All these villages were at one time part of the parish church of Gudja
