I'm a male nurse, and proud of it. The number of times I have had people tell me I should become a doctor instead for the wealth or status factor is astounding and frustrating. I have a good life, and make a great income doing so, despite the challenges involved. And if anyone said that about my profession to talk down to me, you bet they would get shown the door.
