She also didn’t say the second part, she said that it’s what we tell ourselves to numb the fact that we are essentially drug addicted prostitutes. Fuck that's horrible. The guy has his wife changed completely to a junkie and cheater. All of because of one woman who just wanted to make money off of her and other women. Out of everyone my kids went to school with, she was the craziest parent I met. was clear to me she thought she married down since she told me how she was a Jewish princess and all her family were doctors. I only met her husband a couple of times, and probably talked to him for less than 5 minutes. He seemed like a lovely gentleman, so I wasn't surprised when they divorced. After however many years they were married he probably reached his limit. No clue if they sold the house, but the father may have gotten custody of the kids. saying this because they kept going to the same school, yet she died in Texas. so I doubt the kids would be commuting from Texas to Jersey to go to school.

@@bratp4504 Addiction is a disease. There are countless studies done that prove that it alters the brain in such a way that the addict essentially becomes a prisoner to the addiction. I am not defending her actions, but as a recovered addict myself I can't help but feel the need to try and educate people who refuse to treat it like the disease it is.

Thats one way to blame others for the actions of another person. Yes sexism played a big part in all of this. It all started because of her developing this sexist mindset that her husband should behave like a slave and do everything she wants + still provide all the money. Husband even tried his best to somehow resolve this problem but it failed. From then on it spiraled downwards for her. OP thought his wife made a new “friend.” But what she really did was get a dealer who made a loyal customer for herself. There are countless scientific studies conducted worldwide that explore the effects addiction has on the human brain. It quite literally rewires it and keeps the addict in a metaphorical prison within their own minds that keeps them seeking out the next high. They can be screaming at themselves internally but outwardly they are a broken shell of who they once were. The chemical imbalance can be so severe that it leads to mental health issues and other medical conditions completely unrelated to the drug they are hooked on. I suggest you do some reading on the topic and refrain from your closed minded and purposely ignorant ideas on what you believe addiction is. As I have stated in my main comment, I would like for you to imagine saying any of these immensely horrendous and toxic things about this woman to her children. The OP stated she was nothing but a kind and loving mother towards her children. She has paid her price, her children will now grow up without their mother. I have lost 6 close friends over the years due to the opioid epidemic spreading through Canada and nearly lost my own life to it as well. I made it out the other end, my friends did not. I pray you never have to know the horror of walking into a friends room in the morning to wake them up and discovering they had passed away in the night. Having to make that phone call to their parents. Watching as the paramedics come and remove their body. Walking into that room every day afterward and being reminded of all the memories you had shared. Realizing you will never have another chance to speak with them, hug them, make more memories with them. Addiction is a disease and I will never stop being an advocate of that until my dying breath.
