Two main qualifications to serve as a cop seems to either they be criminal minded already or having low I.Q to ineffectively serve. I saw a bodycam video recently and the officer could barely read a woman her Miranda rights because he struggled to read and he had no effective communication skills he sometimes stuttered or talked in circles. I also noticed after the woman picked up on his other weaknesses at the station that her whole demeanor changed first treating him like he didn't exist in front of other officers then as he walked her out the side door (for whatever reason) after her release she started being XTRA XTRA nice to him if you know what I mean... That particular officer (nice as he was) is a sitting duck a developmentally delayed person should not be a police officer!

That's my suspicion. We need to change laws so that if LEOs are charged with violent offenses (among other offenses), those charges cannot be dropped by the victims and even if they are found not guilty by jury, the notations of those charges remain on their employment record permanently.

Every teacher knows you do not leave the kid who most wants to be in charge of the class in charge of the class when you step into the hall. It takes a special kind of broken to think you are (or deserve to be) in authority. Cops. Judges. Politicians. Wanting it should be an automatic disqualification. You should be placed in the position for a period of time in service to your community.
I'm all for a draft/lottery for public service for a period of say two years for all registered voters. No more campaigning. No more career politicians. No more lifetime benefits.
