One Of Their Best Most Splendid Tracks On That Record...U Have To Listen To All 3 Tho... Although Its Split...It's Actually 1 Track Entitled: A Mind Beside Itself...Erotomania Is Part I...Voices Is Part II...And Silent Man Is Part III...
I remember when this album came out and the purists who loved the band already were even more delighted because Images and Words sounded a little commercial to them. It seemed to be a sign that the band had the balls to do what they liked. It was a shame to see Kevin Moore leave after this album but his legacy on the first 3 albums still lives on. I speak with DT fans today that still cite this album as their favourite. Cheers for the reactions.
Not a concept album, but there are several occasions where a theme from a different song is incorporated. This has always been one of my favorite albums, especially in terms of production. The drums sound amazing, especially coming from Images and Words which had the dreaded triggered snare drum sound. Looking forward to your reaction of Invisible Monsters which I think is excellent.
This is one of my go to tracks on this album Awake and beside I love how the transition of the last 3 songs on side 1 if you had the LP or the cassette tape and thanks, Nick & Lex!! - 🤘🤘🤘🤘
If you’re not familiar with Kansas’ mid-70s epics The Pinnacle, etc), there are *definitely* parts of this tune that were influenced by them. The last part of the guitar solo reminded me a bit of Eric Johnson also… though as a guitarist myself, I enjoyed the slower, “tastier” parts of the solo, personally. Appreciating your channel, thanks!
We are definitely going to do much more DT - we're just starting out with reactions. I love Octivarium but off the top of my head I can't say The Ministry of Lost Souls sounds familiar - CAN'T WAIT! Thanks for the comment and stay tuned for more DT coming SOON!!! - Nick
Just found your channel. The Awake album from Dream Theater is my favorite DT album to this day and quite possibly is in my top 25 albums of all time. Not a bad song on that album. I was a huge DT fan until the last few years. Still listen to their albums all the way up through Systematic Chaos but not beyond that. Anyway, was excited to see this video and wanted to show my appreciation.
Please treat yourself to Rhapsody in Blue by LTE3. You guys appreciate music and will be blown away like was!! Love your Rush reactions!!! Don't listen to the negative comments, you are awesome and legit!
You need to react to there live version of Instrumedley from Live at Budokan and Dance of Eternity from their Boston show. Both will definitely blow you away. As for vocals check out Pale Blue Dot from Live in London. I think you'll like Labrie's vocals on this one.
OMG!! Dream Theater! Please please please do more DT. There is so much great stuff to recommend. Erotomonia is part one of a larger song called A Mind Beside Itself. Please react to part two called Voices and then part the is The Silent Man. You will hear recurring themes throughout the whole larger piece. Then check out the live in London version of Pale Blue Dot. It's great stuff!!
Dream Theater discography is full of instrumentals piece of music. Enigma machine or Dance of eternity. Please react to all of them to continue the move.
I've always said I love DT but just wish they had a different vocalist. Several people have recommended some songs to see if he grows on me, but honestly find that a challenge! :P Thanks for watching and for your comment; hope to see you back soon. - Lex :)
Are you two the couple web made the Shark vacuum nozzle video??!! I need help!! Was there a wire in the handle when you took it apart?! Someone cleaned mine, pulled handle apart & put it together wrong. So I took it apart & fixed it...except when I opened handle a bent copper & silver wire combo (attached to a piece of metal) fell out. I can't find helpw/that anywhere! Ur video is the closest I've come!! Please contact me back. I don't know how w/o putting my info out there for the world lol. Kray-Kray Bailly
I'm looking thru the listings of your posts and I haven't seen any Zappa! I would start with Peaches in Regalia and then maybe Cosmic Debris and/or RDNZL just for a brief overview for starters.
This is Rush meets Focus, you can hear "Hamburger Concerto" influence, speaking of "Hamburger Concerto" it is a great listen from the album entitled Hamburger Concerto, the Keyboard work is great between the Organ to synthesizer! Awsome, you guys are s dynamic couple, the way you build on each other!! ☮️
Scenes from a memory is a masterpiece album but the rest of their work isn't doing much for me...Too many complex solos within solos within solos but... Except!!! Space-Dye Vest, my favorite by far, it has my type and your type of sound :) Da Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7i-fxbAG2fI.html What if a Rush song was covered by these dudes: Claudio Sanchez, Bill Kelliher, Les Claypool and Danny Carey, would you check it out? That's a Coheed and Cambria, Mastodon, Primus and Tool hybride band !!! The song is Anthem, an early pure hard rock song from the mid-70s. Those guys are just Rush fans of course. Da link:
Obviously unbelievable musicians! However, it doesn’t move me like their inspiration Rush does. Rush mastered the art of showing off tastefully without studio overproduction. Very good band tho!!
Thanks for these suggestions; we will definitely be doing more DT, promise! Stay tuned for a DT song in the next couple days! Thanks for the support! - Lex
Artillery - khomaniac (studio not live that is) next pls 😁 Some hot tasty thrash metal with oriental flavors. And yeah kudos for reacting to Dt instrumental masterpiece with the most feel
@@NicknLex I see Dt I sub instantly. Pls do the studio version of Artillery - khomaniac. A lot better than the live ones for a series of reasons (bad recording, lineup changes, track modification etc)
Yeah, I remember this too. My first reaction was "Oh, yeah... Kansas ripoff" Sorry that was my first reaction. Not that I don't like it, mind you, its just that Kansas does it better :D "showcase" sounded like Satriani does Kansas, going immediately into Leftoverture
You have heard the song before right? Why are you watching a reaction video if you don't like what people have to say? We have to pause otherwise the record companies block the video. when will this become common knowledge?
Her not liking James isn't uncommon. His tone is off putting, even in his prime. Show her some Symphony X sometime. Russel is much more approachable of a singer for newbies.
I definitely agree on Russel's tone being more agreeable. Symphony X is in my top bands, so it's definitely on my list to show her. Thanks for the listen hope to see you back for Symphony X reaction! :) - Nick
@@NicknLex Sure, I'll sub to see where the channel goes. Is it too soon to request something? March in Arms - Nisei Incredibly catchy choruses backed by a 90's heavy metal sound and a great vocalist. They won't blow you away but you won't be able to get the song out of your head. Their whole album is on youtube if you like this song.
Personally for me Russell's vocals is like scratching a chalkboard. Labrie is a better singer but I can understand why people don't like him. Labrie's studio vocals are much better than live. However his most recent live singing had been really good.
Top notch musicians but they tend to overcomplicate things at times, too much can kill the emotion of a song. the singer is great in his low register but I'm not a fan of his screams and sadly the keyboardist has too big of a role for my taste.
