Wifes First Reaction to Jason Williams' Most Amazing Passes | NBA Career Highlights 

His style of basketball came from playing ball on the Black side of his hometown of Belle, WV. He was an undersized kid, and had a hard time getting picked up in games at the park, so he started focusing on getting the bigger, more popular players the ball - his logic being, if he helped them rack up buckets, they'd always pick him to play - and eventually, they did. | When he was in college at University of Florida, the Gators went to the Sweet 16 his senior year. A media relations agent was watching him play, and marveled that he moved with the flash and swag you usually only saw in the top Black players, but with even more skill and speed. Later in a review of the day's games, the media agent referred to him as White Chocolate - The White boy who plays like a Black man. The nickname caught on, and the Sacramento Kings, after they drafted him, tried to rid themselves of the nickname, they HATED it, because they wanted no connection to the connotation, the NBA had enough issues without bringing race comparisons into the mix. | But he got so popular SO quickly, there was nothing the Kings - or the league - could do about it. White Chocolate shirts and headbands were everywhere, every-time he made an insane play - which was darn near every game, at least a few times - the fans would chant WHITE-CHOC-LATE! WHITE-CHOC-LATE! WHITE-CHOC-LATE! He'd run down court, tap his heart with his hand to the fans once in a while, acknowledging and thanking them for their unwavering support, and smile. He admitted to feeling a little embarrassed about it every once in a while, but it also encouraged him to always play hard, go top speed and give them a show whenever he could. He got very lucky with the players on the Kings, who loved the Showtime nature of their play, so they encouraged him to play his game, the way he plays it, and they just practiced, over and over, taking passes they didn't expect from him, until they just got used to it, and was always on alert whenever he brought the ball down court. Chris Webber benefitted the most, he was always at the ready, so Jason dialed him up ALL THE TIME. That's why so many of the highlights are of Chris Webber, he was J-Will's primary target. | This video was a highlight reel of his best passes, but he was an incredible finisher at the rim, and had a decent jump shot. HIs averages weren't as good as some, but that's mostly because he didn't play to score, he played to pass - and scored if the opportunity was there. If you look up some of the ultimate mixtapes of him, you'll see a more well-rounded highlight reel of his skills overall. He was extremely well rounded - or, as Stephen Jackson said while interviewing him after his career was done, Jason "had one of the deepest bags in the game." A lot of stars, Top 10 or 20 players, they didn't have bags - they had SKILLS, things they did well, but it was only one or two things they excelled at. Jason was one of the few players in the history of the game to have the ultimate bag. He could burn you from anywhere, on any play, with the widest array of skills, that no one knew how to guard - and the second you put your attention on him, the guy you were guarding beforehand was the one scoring the bucket, within a second or two, and you'd never see it coming. Jackson, in referring him living on the White side of town, but playing ball on the Black side, said "You are the best of both worlds. If we had to find somebody to come from both cultures, that represented both the right way, it would be you."

White chocolate nickname is self-explanatory.

Jason said in an interview that he was a WILLING passer. Also there is a great story of him getting heat from Pat Riley for NOT shooting.

Williams media assistant Stephanie Shepherd gave him the "White Chocolate" nickname because of the way he played the game with so much swag. His court awareness and passing skills are nearly on par with Bird's. Williams and I have one thing in common, we both like to smoke pot, but I didn't get kicked off the Florida basketball team twice in one be season or get suspended for 5 games in the NBA like he did. 😂😂😂

He is from Belle, West Virginia. About 30 miles from where I live. He had a teammate in high school that you may have heard if, lol. The teammate was fairly good decent on the gridiron. Name of Randy Moss. Yep, they played basketball together. What a talented team DuPont High School had then. Two fan favorites then and now. Hats off to the Belle Boys.

He played high school basketball In West Virginia with NFL HOF Randy Moss. Was qb on football team throwing to Moss also. Same high school the logo Jerry West played also.

His teammates got open, worked harder to, because they knew he’d find one of them….
