I didn't realize how big this thing is. It's huge! I'm using it indoors as an Access Point in a detached metal building. The unit is Cat5e hardwired to the router in the main house which is about 300' away. So since it's an Access Point there will be a different SSID from the WiFi in the main house, which means, as you move between buildings you'll be handed off between the networks. And the iPhone 12 Pro handles the hand off seamlessly as does my Dell laptop. WiFi signal inside the metal building is great. All TVs and computers are humming along swimmingly. This thing is a beast! Rock solid. Recommended.
I like how he flips through the manually and talks about setup but says we're not going to get into that. Then shows setting it up and the video cuts to "All right, it's all setup and ready". LOL Spent most of his time reading from the box
is it a universal mesh router / extender or only for their particular brand of equipment ? im looking for an outdoor option to go with my Netgear Orbi WiFi6
should be good for any system, I just have Cox cable and the modem they have with the package and it worked! in the description is a link to the product information for more details
I need to extend wifi signal from my house to my attic, the two areas are not on top of each other, and the wall are not thin. Do you think that product can help me ? Many thanks.
Why dont you setup your ssid's to all the same names and passwords and just change the channel numbers so itll seamlessly connect to each access point thats closest as you move
Please answer - i want to set up an outdoor live feed on you tube for my bird feeder station. I will be using one (1) POE camera ( REOLINK RLC-811A PoE IP Security Camera 4K) and a POE injector. I assume the wi-fi extender will capture the internet from my indoor router from my desktop PC. Camera mounted on a pole Using a CAT 8 ethernet cable - do i set up by: 1) Connect Cat 8 cable (LAN) from the camera to the POE injector (LAN) 2) Plug the wi-fi extender into POE injector 3) Plug POE injector into an ac outlet on my deck. I will use OBS Studio platform to run thru and stream live on RU-vid. Is that the fundamental connection? Please help and thank you.
I don't think so, It looked like it has that connection directly on the box, I think that adapter gave you an on off switch and splitter if you needed it, You should be able to connect right to box if you wanted too.
Maybe a stupid question: is it possible to set-up the device as a range-extender simultenously for both 2,4 and 5Ghz bands? I had a range extender once, that was only able to connect to 2.4 or 5 GHz and extend the signal, but not extending both at the same time.
nothing when it comes to tech these days is really that stupid anymore is it? anway, here is my stupid 2 cents, your home base WIFI/router device is not simultaneously sending 2.4 and 5GHZ, so it won't matter, (now tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought your only sending or using 2.4 or 5GHZ at any given time anyway, never both ????)
not sure what a voucher code is but you can set it up with different passwords for like if at a public spot and you want people to use a code to access it
Thanks. I've been trying to see how reliable their statement of "provides stable wireless coverage up to 200-300m". Any thoughts? This is the only outdoor WiFi router that I can find on the market that offers this distance.
So, I bought this from Amazon. It looks super impressive. After two days of fiddling with the location on my property and the configuration settings, I'm returning it. Very disappointing absolutely dosen't work as promised. I'm on a 1/4 acre with a two story home and a detached garage. Mounted this outside second floor worked great for about an hour then signal and bandwidth dropped to 8 mbps couldn't even connect to 5g even though I can see the ap from where I was sitting. Please avoid this device I had really high hopes and it just didn't work.
Sorry this may be a stupid question but are you positive you installed the antennas in their appropriate sockets? They have specialized antennas to their respective frequencies
@cal4050 thanks for asking 😊, yeah, the antennas are labeled and so is the AP. I wish that had been the problem. I ended up getting a TPLink and it worked great!
The instructions don't work. The configuration setup URL doesn't exist. The only thing this thing did was cost me $142. Web help is useless. Tech support useless. RU-vid videos USELESS. Smashing with sledge hammer. Will buy competitor product. Total disappointment. Just like this useless video.
Very bad product, I bought 2 of units, my interest is 1 gigabit speed, open area about 100 ft from the unit, speed test only 30-50mbps, my TP-Link EAP650 outdoor, speed test 600+ mbps, not happy with this product, return it
I bought 2 to setup as a wireless bridge as advertised on Amazon and I cannot figure it out to save my life, and there are no videos out there showing how to connect to units to each other
