The cloning function on these doesn't work no matter how condescending a voice you tell us "how easy it is to extend your wifi network" in. What a waste of money.
It works for me. No issues. Exactly as this video describes (apart from the fact as already pointed out that the buttons are illustrated the wrong way around)
The tutorial is wrong. To clone the second adaptor, first press the encryption button of the second, then the wps button of the first (and not the encryption button as they said). After a few minutes, all your network will have the same name than your initial router.
Hi Guys. Cloning worked fine for me first time I did it with my old Technicolor router. Then I tried to add a second adapter, having in the meantime got a Genexis DRG700 fibre optic router. Couldn't get the second adapter to clone from the first, despite umpteen attempts, and thanks to conflicting instructions managed to overwrite the settings on my first adapter completely ****ing the whole setup. Then couldn't get the original adapter to clone from the DRG using the WPS button. Tore lots of my hair out. - swore a lot - got bol***ed by the wife. In the end I had to connect my laptop using the off the shelf Devolo SSID and WIFI password that was now written to both adapters, then used the Devolo software to change the SSID and password manually. Strangely once I sorted the one adapter, the second one changed itself to match!!! Baffled, but now its all working and I'm sweeping up the lost hair.
@@vegasmike it just doesnt work for most people, no matter how often you write it works for you. my cockpit software for example doesnt detect my wifi adapter
Wasted absolutely ages trying to clone it. First followed the paper instructions included (they are wrong - steps missed out) then the RU-vid video. Still not working. Considering taking it back to the shop for a refund.
Hello, i try for one year to use this devolo 500 mbps, i tried everything you said and after youtube all the variants, the result is the same, there is NO INTERNET CONNECTION
It worked for me! If it doesnt work for u try to reset all the devolo until the have their default settings and put the video from the beginning following all their instructions
It does work, somewhat.. It also depends on your powerlines ofc. If you have old powerlines in your house/ appartments then you should expect packetloss and disruptions, and you are better of with a regular cable. (i know, we hate cables!!)
Hey! Is there any chance I can put the first dlan (the one which remains all the time close to the router) in another room but still linked to the router you the Ethernet cable. I’d like to do this so that part of the power isn’t lost in it’s trajectory to the other 2 adapter S
These adapters are truly a nightmare. They work for weeks, then for some reason they stop workign and there is no way to pair them. Not even when the whole setup has been reset to factory settings. CRAP !
It does work. but it takes some effort. the move technology doesn't work that well, that is mainly because the of the receivers not latching onto the stronger signal.
Not very impressed with this product, or the companies attitude in giving me some advice. Instead of them being proactive and leading the conversation in giving me help, I had to keep asking the questions including prompting them if they were still on the other end of the line (must have been siesta time). Someone in authority needs to read these negative comments and get a grip on things.
It works but it’s so slow because I plugged it into my Xbox (wired) after everything was set up, I got 24mbps and then when I did it with out the Ethernet port (wirelessly) plugged into my Xbox and it doubled the speed (45mbps). So you would rather use your internet wirelessly than using that crap.
What a load of rubbish, the wired adapter won't connect to the other unit, flashing red lightand no mention of this anywhere, i will be sending these back as soon as possible
Red light means there is A) too long distance in the wires between the units, B) too much electrical noise from other appliances close to the units, C) something dividing your power network, i.e. two different power meters
The manual is an absolute mess that doesn’t answer the simplest and urgent questions nor the buttons proper functions in 56 pages. I can’t clone the WiFi either. I guess I’ll need to download the software, but that misses the point. Anyone knows if a 10€ Belkin or TPlink can do the job?
just moved home brought my devolo with me which works great at the last house but when i pug it into the router it knocks out the wifi completely why is this
I’ve got one of these kits, looks great in theory but the product’s usability is very poor in my opinion. One plug works fine the other is extremely temperamental. I won’t buy from this company again until the set up is simplified. I just tried to post this once but my connection was lost. Enough said
@@arnaudstrijp6554 there is an error on this video. I figured out how to do it. To extend the network with a second adaptor, they said to press the encryption of the 2 adaptor. Actually you have to press encryption button of the second, and wps button of the first. Work for me like that
i have a devolo magic DIN rail and for some reason has a conflict between the develo system(din rais + 6wifi clone) and the router/access point system, if devolo system doesn't have dhcp, so what is causing the conflict(before this days it was working perfectly)
Not easy at all. A real faff actually. Lots of running around the house pressing buttons and endless flashing red lights. Maybe I'm asking for too much but why can't you just stick the adapters in the plug point and they sort themselves out? Why the need for encryption blah blah. You still need to have the password for each adapter to use it so why all the complexity. Another example of tech designed by IT geeks with no input from ordinary punters who want gizmos to just come out of the box and plug in.
Believe it or not sticking the adapters in and letting them do their thing actually used to be the case, i used these adapters over ten years ago and it was a simple as plugging them in I now have a new set and it's a real faff, simplicity no more !!!
The result of following these instructions is that your internet connection will crash. That's all. You certainly will not connect any new clones. If you follow the paper instructions in the box they differ from this video although they do have one thing in common, they don't work either. What a load of rubbish Devolo.
Use the Cockpit software which comes on the disc, you can do lots of things from there including restore each item to factory defaults. You can switch all the LEDs off on every item which is good if you've got one in the bedroom.
DOES anyone knows how to turn off the wifi. if for one, i want to use only the lan cable and avoid having radiation in the room is it possible to turn the wifi off?
