A friend of mine had problem with WiFi range at home so she decided to get a cheap repeater to extend the range of her WiFi router. Unfortunately, this WiFi repeater is a typical no name so let's just call it The Repeater. All the details of the repeater and first test setup in the video.

I wasn't automatically directed to that browser page shown at 3:34 - So I typed in the IP address shown in the video 192.168.10.1/index.htm and it got me straight through. It's worth pointing that bit out as some people may not get automatically routed to that repeater login page.

You can change the subnet for the device - eg. if it's factory settings are 192.168.10.1, then changing the device IP to 192.168.11.1 will work fine but 192.168.10.2 will not. Go figure.

Can somebody tell me if I need to plug my repeater to my computer with a wire, of if I have to plug it to something else (a router for example....) or if I don't have to plug it at all, and leave it the way it is in the outlet. Yes I'm confused!!! Thanks!!!

Can we disable DHCP from this Repeater ? sometime my laptop got IP from main router, sometime got different IP from this Repeater (sometimes make internet disconnected) .

@@GabMag11 i connect every device to both networks so that losing one signal just causes it to switch to the other. if your devices aren't moving just connect them to whichever signal is strongest

Yes, this is the way to go. Your mobile or laptop should automatically set for the strongest signal.

Thank you for this. I am actually a software developer but I really loathe things like this because the instructions are usually not great. In my case I was confused by the instructions because they only envisage connecting from a computer, whereas many will be (as you and I did) using a mobile phone to do it. Also at no point whatsoever was I able to connect by IP (stated in the instructions as 192.168.10.1. However after resetting I saw what you saw in my phone's list of available networks and went from there. The available networks were also not visible (just a spinning wheel) in the Repeater configuration page until I did a reset of the device using the small button.

I've done a bit of s/w development and I find poorly written instruction manuals extremely frustrating. For example I have a sewing machine I am having trouble getting set up because the manual is terrible. I have written hundreds of programs, and I can replace the timing belt on my Honda, but I can't get a sweing machine to work, lol.

What is the difference between the 2 versions AP or Repeater. I am having issues with wireless in my house. The internet router is at the back of the house. I like to sit in the lounge at the front. My Internet provider says that the walls are blocking the signal. They wont fix it. So I need to work something out. How will it extend the range, if it is plugged in at the back near the internet?

I'm about 2 years too late, but the best bet would be to lay cat6 cables in the ceiling then into a repeater where you want to use the wifi.

Is there a way to configure in bridge mode and connect an Ethernet cable only printer onto the WiFi, with a WiFi network address, and is able to receive broadcasts. This is needed for Airprint to work on my printer

Robert, as far as I know you can use this device as an access point so you plug LAN cable in and then you can bradcast you internet or intranet. But if you can do what you wrote I am not sure, sorry.

I will make a video about repeaters sooner of later explaining all of the features. Your mobile for example should automatically select the device with stronger signal. So you can technically log into two networks and your mobile phone should use the best one.

Thanks So if i understand this correctly, 🤔 I log on to my router using any device (all do this automatically) then walk away from the house like yourself in the video, until the signal weakens. Then by chance I come across my repeater plugged into a socket at the end of my drive, 😃 the device I'm using should then switch automatically to the repeater (if the signal is a stronger)? Cant seem to find my wifi icon on computer, Im also having trouble setting this up, I cant seem to notice any difference although Im not sure how you actually see anything that tells you its actually working??? Puzzled really>???got in touch with suppliers for help and even these instructions don't really make any sense at all especially when I asked them to explain how we can see a difference or notice anything!!!!???? Read the manual properly you have to set the repeater to the main router with its generic password and device name. Did you try using WPs autentication it shoud be the easiest way to connect to your router. Just press WPS authentication on your router and then on your repeater. Exactly the same as with one. There is no problem there your router would simply use it as another device connected to it that's it.

I would like to read the actual instructions because I’m having trouble. I got a new router/SSID and need to reset my extender. I don’t have the original instructions anymore that came in the box. Can you please scan your instruction’s paper a pin a link to the scanned file? I’m unable to connect with WPS and don’t understand how to log into the extender and complete the screen because I don’t understand the field mapping nomenclature. Thank you!

I have this very same repeater but I have an issue, I just changed my wifi password so it no longer works. I tried reseting the repeater but now on the green screen it does not load, as I type in the user name and password (admin for both) and click log in nothing happens. It just won't go anywhere it stays on the green screen and it does not let me get to the main menu :( what do I do?

@@leonardofuentes2592 yes it was 11:11 sale, i think it’s still up for 6-7 dollars, it automatically directs you to the website and all to set it up, i named it same as my wifi router and also added the same password, now it works like a roaming device, it’s been over a month and this thing is working flawlessly

I have this repeater when connected through Wi-Fi the signal strength is low but if you connect your PC to repeater using Ethernet cable the speed is high ping is 20 download speed is 391mbps download speed is 451mbps

You press and hold wps for 10 second, then press reset for 10 seconds, then reply the thing, it should work

What if my network wont show up on the list of networks when i go to link the wifi pro to it? It shows pretty much every other network around me but mine. Theres a bunch of networks with no names, and. Ive gone through each of them one by one and still cant find mine.

Did u check if your router is broadcasting 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz network or both. Is you repeater 2.4 GHz only or does it work with 5 GHz networks as well?

So I have a weird bug that I don't know if it's good or bad. Apparently I can set up the Wi-Fi repeater and get all the way to the step where I would go to put in the password for internet. I stopped there and I can get speeds of 143 Mbps download in about 22 or 23 upload. Once I put in the password for my internet my speeds drop down to about 17 Mbps download and 9 or 10 upload. Has anyone else had a bug like this?

I ordered just one 36.$ they added one more making total 67 $ and change... I did watch your video...I did everything....didn't work with my internet in fact my internet is so messed up now...I sent it back and called the number. They said I'd have to repay a return stock . So for those out there you will only get 58$ back.... the advertising I saw when I googled no mention of a restock fee... in fact the ad said full refund if it doesn't work....

So as I just proved in the previous comment u are a victim of scammers they sent you product worth 5 dollars you pay 50 then request return and they charge you 10 dollars. so thechnically speaking they earn 100% commisions without selling you anything, they can sell the repeaters again. I got the wifi repeater but the pages that start with ip addresses on the comments starting with 192. won't connect so my internet is open to anyone to connect , suggestions please?

I have one simlar to this (mine has two little antenae on side). Do i have to move all of my devices onto the "new" network -- (old name-plus-4455)

I do not fully understand the question but if you are asking about LAD cable ? No , you do not need to plug it in if you want to use it as a Wi-Fi repeater, but the device needs to be plugged into the mains socket.
