Be sure that your wig isn't too tight...it shouldn't feel like a vice, or remotely creating pressure anywhere. If you wear a wig sock....make sure it isn't too tight as well. That is generally the cause of headaches. I am not familiar with that glue....I have only used IT STAYS and it is odorless. If you have hair that you secure before putting on the wig ...make sure you aren't securing it too tightly, and make sure clips or ponytails aren't creating any issues. We have a ton of pressure points all over our head....and if anything is even slightly pushing on one all day long...that could cause a headache for sure.

The minute i watched this i run to the office bathrooms to remove my wigcap. OMG a tight wigcap can literally bring your whole being to standstill!!!Its not even midday&ny head is throbbing! It feels much better now,ill definitely be doing without a wigcap

I've only been wearing wigs a few months, but I have also found that the wig grip is uncomfortable, even when I am careful not to put it on too tight. And wig caps seem way too tight! Luckily I have short hair so I just put the wig on right over my hair. It feels fine that way. Maybe it's risky but it feels secure and doesn't feel like its coming off. So far so good.

I was feeling like I was the only one that was having a hard time with those wig grips! :/ I am sorry they don't work for you...I know so many women find them their saving grace. I wish I had a head shape that would allow me to just plop one on and it felt secure. The IT STAYS in front, and little ponytail in back has been my saving grace! Thanks so much for watching! Hugs~

This is the thing that is hold me back, I wore a wig ( not tight ) for 3 hours to my Grandsons birthday party and I got that feeling where I was having to ease the elastic the base of my skull was burning , I don’t think I will ever be able to wear a wig for a whole day

Thank you so much for your advice. I too am a super sensitivity person and I can never wear a wig grip. I find that the pressure of the seam on the front of my wigs cause much irritation. I am saving up for a lace front wig...I have had to wear wigs for two years now and I have to wear them. We should all get together and design a wig with extreme comfort for the super sensitivity person! Adrian

Hi Adrian! It can be challenging, that is for sure! I do think it took me a little time to figure out what features I really could not do without....like moleskin or velvet lining under temple tabs. ;) I also can't 'do' closed caps, sadly.:( I had to sell all my closed cap wigs, and that was a bummer because I liked the wigs themselves. Thanks for watching!

Thank you Jill, would you do a video addressing headaches with toppers please? My topper gives me headaches, I'm also sensitive, physically and emotionally so...any comments you have will be helpful. You're the best by the way! Thanks again.

Hi Jill, Yes I get headaches if I wear a wig all day but not sure if it's the wig or the cap causing it because I've never worn a wig without the cap. Don't know why I've not tried it without before . Take care and have a great day!!!

Thank you much for this advice, I'm new to wearing wigs, actually it's causing me severe headache in less than 2 hours of wearing it with the wig cap. Also I have long hairs maybe it's too tight when wearing with the wig cap, i'll try wearing it without the cap but i'm afraid it does not hold my hair tight. I've ordered a wig cap of medium size in comparison with the small size I was using. I hope that will resolve the issues. Thanks

Interesting video! I have always steered clear of wigs for this reason. I wear hairpieces and have a lot of them, but the thought of an actual wig, no. Have a great day!!

Great info,I get the same overly sensitive head,the hair nets made me feel itchy,and with the head break outs even the lace front can drive my skin crazy..i tried to modify my wig grip,failure. I was thinking about something..will post it on your topper post...have a great day

OMG Jill, you and I have many of the same issues. I can't wear a wig grip. So I sew in clips into my wigs to secure. One on each side of my temples and 2 at my nape. Has worked great for me. I don't wear wig caps either, they just slide around and are hot.

Hi Liz! The It Stays has been my saving grace! I am so temped to sew a couple clips in the back of my wigs, though! Thanks so much for sharing this!

Jill, I have tried using the It Stays but, don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can't get it to stick to the skin. Was wondering if I have to many baby hairs on forehead.

I agree about the wig grip....although I do like them for the security and now use the thinner one that has the silicon lines on it. I recently cut what was left of my hair off because I thought it was caused by pinning hair up under a wig cap (and boy do they fit differently). Now I do not wear one and I am anxious to see if it helps. I do have better posture when I wear a wig; I must be more confident. I wonder if it not the little amount of pressure that is at the base of the skull. Thanks for this video

HI Suzy! I do think posture is what is doing it for me too...How I must be holding my neck/head differently when wearing wigs? Maybe, I am standing how I should, but my muscles are resisting! :/ Thank YOU for watching, and have a great day!!

Hi Jill, I'll never forget the first time I wore my wig in public. I was at the grocery store-I had a tight wig cap (nylon stocking) under my wig & got the most horrid headache (almost like a migrane)! My head started pounding so bad & I was getting nauseous! I don't know how I made it out of the store! The minute I got home I pulled the wig & cap off (threw it on the floor) and the headache went right away!! Since then I've been wearing the wig grip band and after two years of wearing it, my bio hair in front is so gross: it's wired, frizzy & can stand straight up!! I'm thinking of wearing the glue - but does that damage your bio hair? (thought really no one would see it - hopefully)! I need the security of the grip band cause I have such a petite head & it would fall right off! 😱 Thanks! I really enjoy all your videos!!! ❤️

That's aweful! I am happy it went away right away! We have so many pressure points on our scalp...that it doesn't surprise me that it triggered that awful headache you had! The IT STAYS has been my saving grace with keep wigs securely on! I do use wig tape in the nape, or a small ponytail if the style allows. Those things do the trick for me, and are pretty darn comfortable! I wish the wig grip worked for me for the long haul of longer wear...but, they trigger headaches, and just all around discomfort even making sure they aren't too tight. Wig caps are the same. Thanks so much for watching, and hope you are having a good week!

Hey Jill.. I going to really like the Q & A videos!! .. so my question is do you find that there are wig brands that seem to last longer than others like better fibers? And how often do you wash them?
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 6 лет назад
Thank you, Gale! GOOD questions! I wish I could be a good source for the first question, but I don't feel like I have enough experience with wig brands to be a really great source for a fair answer. Over all...the HD don't last as long within ALL lines, but the Noriko fibers are the best I have ever tried so far BUT I can't do their closed caps....and most of their styles are closed caps! :( Out of the HD fibers I find the Jon Renau out last the Raquel Welch. I find RW true to life fibers to be so so delicate.. I will do a video on your other question for sure!0

im about to turn 48. i had a beautiful head of hair once upon a time but after bleaching and coloring it simply wont grow. i really want to take better care of myself and my hair can use a break.. i now realise just how much i could have saved my hair from had i ventured into wigs instead of bleaching but i felt it too taboo.. or ill get called fake.. no.. they are just like any other piece of your wardrobe and im in love with the idea.. im wondering if its because i did not buy high end wigs?.. i started simple.. 3 pieces $20 range on amazon.. wondering if this is the reason.. they fit just fine but after 4 hours on it starts to hurt..educate me please! ty!

I get a headache if I wear certain wig caps. I like wearing the caps because it also serves as a gripper to keep the wig in place but even though they say they are they are not ‘one size fits all’ and I’ve found it hard to find ones that run a bit bigger. Also I use a gripper too (I’ve used it stays as well but don’t like the feel of it) but my concern with the gripper is do they stretch the wig cap? Also since the grippers can be loosened or tightened there is a bit of an extra bulk where it comes together depending on how tight you wear them. I’ve noticed my shoulder length wig has a bit of a poof in the back caused by the excess but don’t know how to really fix that. I always put the gripper part that keeps it together at the middle of my neck. Any suggestions? Thinking of cutting off the excess once I have it sized right.

I don’t get headaches per se, but I do take my wig off as soon as I get home, even if it’s only been on long enough to go to the store not sure why I do that) . I’ve never worn one all day, haven’t had the need to, however, we are getting ready for a two week cruise to Hawaii (can’t wait) and I will be wearing it much longer. Would you suggest using the It Stays when we are outside or my wig grip? Have you ever been in the wind with your wig on? Did the It Stays work? I’ve been wanting to ask you as my trip approaches. Thanks.😊

I have fewer headaches with the lace fronts too. My Tony of Beverly lace front is 100% hand tied. But it seems the lace is more scratchy than the Jon Renau. Is there a way to fix that? It doesn’t appear that it can be cut, as the lace stops very close to the hairline.
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy
@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 6 лет назад
I agree, LeAnne...I feel the TOB lacing a little more scratchy. What helps me is to eliminate movement with it...and the IT Stays does that for me. Still...it's not as comforable as Jon Renau, but MUCH better!

I love the security wig grips give, however wondering if anyone out there has found a wig grip that is a light beige as the beige ones I have found are too dark. Plus looking for one that isn't so darn long. Anyone out there in wig land found one?

denise bissell I found this great wig grip with integrated nylon cap at cysterwigs.com. cysterwigs.com/products/gripcap-by-milano-collection-tan. I love it because it keeps my bio hair neatly tucked away without needing to use clips, not as tight as a regular nylon cap, and no long tail on the velcro band like the other wig grips. I think it is a little lighter than the regular tan wig grips too. It is more expensive, but worth it to me. Much less bulk under my wigs but with all the great security grips and caps provide. Hope that helps 😊
