Wigan v Warrington - 1987 John Player Trophy Final 

I bought a woolly Wigan hat on the way in - it was a cold day. It was a tough game and it became known as my lucky hat. I took it to games and only put it on when we desperately needed to win and it looked like we had no chance. I wore it very sparingly and every time we won. Still got it in the bottom of the wardrobe waiting for the next time I need it.

@blurtar1 this was the 1986-1987 season final played in January 1987. The events you refered to happened in 1987-1988 season. The semi Leeds beat Wigan was held in Dec 1987 and the final that Saints beat Leeds in January 1988.
