I actually like a lot about this. The flashing lights are cool, and the remix is GOD TIER. But the track is a bit too bright and it’s scaled up way too much. It also shouldn’t be above a city.
I think the whole "above city" thing is neat… but I don't see them actually doing that for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, because N64 Rainbow Road already did that.
Pros: -Godlike Remix (P.S. please reply with a link to it) -Added Gap for Glider Opportunity -Surreal Rainbow Road texture -Not everything is anti-gravity unlike in the BCP Cons: -The road and edge brightness has potential to cause epilepsy or seizures -Due to the excessive elevation of the S-Turn section, the gap jump is no longer possible. It’s more easier to fall in that section especially if you get hit by item like right here 2:49 -The track is scaled much greater than what we had in the BCP, thus, longer lap completion -It takes place in a city instead of outer space meaning no meteor effect when you fall, which loses nostalgic value
Despite the whole cc thing, THIS is the rainbow road we should've got. To the re-imagined way to drive, the wavy section before the double giles being changed to a glider just feels right for mk8dx, plus there being boxes around in the sky is a nice touch to say the least. And then the music, rather nice in itself but I'd probably say panman's remix feels more fitting to me personally, but it works! Hopefully when mk9 comes out this is the rainbow road 'wii' get from either retro or booster course.
If they included the track in BPC I hope it keeps the bright and colorful appearance and adds elements from Super Mario Galaxy as the original included starbits, launch star as canon and even the music paid homage to Good Egg Galaxy if I recall. Also keeps it in space maybe even add Comet Observatory and Lumas in the background.
oh, so this is why I kinda felt underwhelmed with Wii Rainbow Road in the booster course, it somehow removed most of the skill required although ow my eyes
I really like the pastel colors of the main road, and it's looking promising as hecc, though the lighting needs more work, its just way too bright, the rainbow rims change colors a bit too fast, all that brightness is making the characters get darkened too much to almost pitch black, and the many fireworks while pretty, they also make the scene even brighter than it already is, and the track could use less that burst at a slower speed too Also it would be better to have the item boxes at the double gap section to be over the halfpipes, because otherwise there's no reason to use them whatsoever, and maybe you could add an antigravity panel on the road before the cannon so stuff like getting hit by a Spiny Shell doesn't drop you to the void for extra punishment x,d
maybe the worst rainbow road ct i’ve seen. Visuals are great, but it’s been scaled up so much, where are the bumps in the gaps, what is up with those boost rings!?
