From Cats Vs. Dogs, to Callie Vs. Marie. From Cake Vs. Ice Cream, to Chaos Vs. Order. Now it's Rock Vs. Paper Vs. Scissors. I'm still blown away and amazed how far Splatoon as a series and its Splatfests have come.

I’m watching this after splatoon 2’s final splatfest I’m crying lmao

At the time of writing this, Splatoon 3’s Grandfest ended 2 days ago. I was on team Past, which also happened to be the winning team of the fest. It was also the first time I was part of the winning team in all of Splatoon 3’s splatfests. I chose team past subconsciously because of this trailer, actually. 9 years ago, I would watch this trailer non-stop, hyping myself up for the first ever splatfest. I still remember it was cats v dogs, and I was on the losing team (cats). I still remember grinding up to level 20, the highest level at the time, with my rollers and inkstrikes. I still remember the joy and satisfaction I had once I finally reached that goal. I still remember the joy I felt being apart of the first ever live game event I participated in at that point in my life. I decided to rewatch this for fun. I did not expect to cry at how far along both me and this franchise has gone. I want to pick up my dusty WiiU and play Splatoon 1 again, but since the servers are now down, I think it’s better for it to remain a memory. My friends would always trash-talk team past during the Grandfest. But I chose it more than just “I like the Squid Sisters the most” (which was one of my reasons). I chose it because of the first splatfests I’ve played in, because the Squid Sisters gave me joy in such a pivotal point in my life, from their banger calimari inkantation to their banger idol designs. Because of them, I am able to enjoy my past, despite the troubles, and see the joy I felt back then, and the nostalgia that it now leaves behind. I’m glad past won, not because of the sea snails or sense of accomplishment, but because being reminded of what was is a sign of what will be. Today’s happiness is tomorrow’s nostalgia. Uh, anyways, I’m writing too much, but thank you if you decided to read all of this.

The way Splatfests went from a silly little day long event- to a Full 3 Day Concert with different idol groups and a special Hub the changes mid-fest. We're definitely living in the best timeline-

I remember my first Splatfest. I joined the game and saw people dancing and smiling and the Squid Sisters singing on in-game stages in the listening to the performance by Callie and Marie, I joined a team and joined a match. It was so much fun, with the music sung by the Squid Sisters, the Team Battling, everything. I even made a new friend. I'm gonna miss these fun times. I hope they make a sequel where they keep the Squid Sisters (they are my favourite video game characters, always and forever) and make Splatfests return. After all, I'm sure almost everybody loved them. I was very surprised when I was told that it was going to be the last Splatfest. I hoped it was all a dream. Sadly, it was true. I'm gonna miss them so much, I would do almost anything to be part of a Splatfest again. Please Nintendo, bring back Splatfests. Yours Faithfully, stitch2654 An inkling, always and forever.

I never realized how NOT fresh I was until I saw the Squid Sisters. They have shown me the true way.

The 2D shots that they intercut with gameplay really makes me want a Splatoon anime done in that style...

Damn I remember this. I want to travel back to 2015 and play Splatoon again on my Wii U, and play the old splatfests again.

Surprsingly, this is the video that actually made me buy the game more than a month has passed and I'm super obsessed with it :'O I say "surprisingly" because the first Splatoon video I ever saw was Squid kid and it didn't make me wanna get the game...

Damn, watching this video 3 days before the end hits hard “Stay fresh!” will become nostalgic, I'm quite young so yes. I started Splatoon in 2016, it's my whole childhood and I don't want it to disappear. I broke my Wii U 5 years ago, so now I watch some Splatoon videos before the shutdown. Even if you've never played Splatoon 1 or any Splatoon games, I hope you have a good day. That crazy to think that we're on the third opus of the series, although shorter than its predecessors and reaching its end soon (I hope there will be a Splatoon 4 in the future). Rather strange for me to think that the single player mode or the characters of Splatoon become a reference that new generations of players will not know. So one last time before the end, have a good time and Stay fresh !🐙🦑🎵🎶🙃

Here we are. We're in the final few hours of the last Splatfest we'll ever be able to experience in a long, long time, if ever again. Let's take a moment to reflect upon everything that's lead up to this moment. I never imagined this singular game and its sequel would have opened my eyes to one of the most vibrant, colorful, and beautiful communities I've ever seen on the internet. I remember meeting so many new people over our mutual liking of and connection to this wondrous series, all of which I'm glad to have called my friends. I remember spending so many countless hours on this game just enjoying its sheer beauty and grace. So many fun battles had between other people all over the globe. So many battles with my friends and I. So much art shared, stories written, characters created. I remember I've had both games since each of their respective days of release. And back when I had Splatoon 1, there was no such thing as level S or X, or a level pass 21, or Squad/League or Private Battles, or Splatlings, Brushes, Sloshers, Duallies, Brellas. And although this brings me a biased sense of nostalgia about the "good old days," it's also been such an honor to be able to experience this series evolve and continue to grow live with my very own eyes. Thank you, Nintendo. Thank you for bringing this masterpiece into the world.

I love the music oh my gosh ^o^ _RIP me I missed all the Splatfests_

Honestly? This is an old video and nobody reads these probably but i'm gonna say my bit. The splatoon world is absolutely 100% my favorite videogame world- lore wise, visual wise, and everything else. I've never truly wished to be part of something that isn't real as bad as the whimsical, fun, and truly charming world of splatoon. The absolute joy i feel when i think about life in Inkopolis is almost bizarre to me, i've never felt this way about really anything before. (I guess I could be called a Weeb for splatoon.) The sheer joy and nostalgia for Splatoon 1 splatfests and the joy i get out of playing Splatoon 2 splatfests (not as much as splatoon 1 though, even though 2 did so many things great, 1 will always hold a special place in my heart) is nearly indescribable to all but those who share these feelings. Nintendo, thank you for making this absolute masterpiece of a world. Never stop being creative. Never stop putting these fantastic games and worlds out there. I hope a lot of you (if you ever read this) feel the same way as I do about this game. It honestly makes me extremely happy to think about and dream of this wonderful world Nintendo has created.
