We ran out of time and here are the answers to the remaining questions: Q: How would you advise to use sprayed foam insulation with wikihouse?is it possible to spray foam on the inside of the block while it's still "open"? A: We have seen examples of WikiHouses built using spray foam insulation. Some spray foams are better than others in terms of environmental and health impacts. We have usually tended towards to the less messy soft-fill insulation, but others such as spray or blown cellulose insulation are also potential options. Q: Have you got any plans to include modelling existing site constraints? A: Yes, where there is publicly available site data we would eventually like to include property boundaries, topography, satellite imagery, existing buildings etc. Add any other questions here and we'll reply in comments!
Great presentation, very exciting to see how the Wikihouse concept has progressed. I had a suggestion in regards to the system not accounting for labour costs, would there be a way to make an estimation of the time component of labour that local designers could then assign local labour rates to? Maybe break it down by trade to allow for a more granular estimate to be made?
Love the Wikihouse initiative! Videos is a good idea to spread the word but for gods sake EDIT THE VIDEOS!!! Watching a Teams conference where people are joining in from very noisy environments is tiresome. As you have to turn the soundlevel up to hear the ones speaking quietly, you then get bombarded with the slamming of doors, loud voices from the background and other stuff. The same for watching someone waiting to join a video conference
