I hate the fact that Wilbur is so right about the internet addiction.

I love it when you’re just minding your own business and Wilbur stops being sadistic and starts spouting wisdom

I think most people are fans not toxic and understand but the small percentage are the ones that shout the loudest so that’s why we hear them

Some people really need to hear this video. I have a friend who’s entire personality is just Twitter and she stans different people all the time but is so quick to cancel them. That’s the side of Twitter that’s toxic, they’ve built their whole life and relationships around the app and it’s kind of sad really because they don’t realise the situation they’re in. They can’t separate Twitter from real life, so their version of stanning is so toxic bc they don’t realise the people they’re obsessed with then cancelling for no reason are real people. That’s why fans who respect the person they like and know boundaries for interacting with them are the ones the creators probably like the most. They’re not going to like people who are weird about them or hold them to impossible standards of them not ever being able to say something wrong or make a mistake. That’s so toxic especially now that younger streamers are getting more popular. Now more than ever we really need to respect their boundaries so that the creators enjoy themselves as well because they’re doing it for fun (again especially the younger streamers because it’s not their ‘job’ like other people) and we can enjoy it as well. I really don’t understand how people who are more obsessed over their reputation on Twitter than their own life can read this or listen to this video and still not agree that they should respect people.

It's weird seeing this side of minx, I mean yea she does things that really set her apart from other streamers and such but it's nice to see that mellow level in her

As a past contributor to cancel culture, I can say this. Participating in it affects your mental state. If you start looking at people you see on the screen and using any of their mistakes ever, you start applying those rules to yourself and stop letting yourself make mistakes as well. It makes it harder to forgive yourself. Just a recommendation to some people who may not realize this stuff.

This was honestly so well spoken, Wilbur is clearly so smart and should honestly speak out on these important topics more. Never used twitter cos I fucking hate it and certainly won't ever after this lmao

I'm not done with the Vid but I want to write this down before I forget it. So I'm pretty much a silent fan (first time I write a comment since ever) and I really like being a silent fan because I don't need to stress about people hating on my opinion or stuff I say. I don't have Twitter, Facebook or Istagram because I don't see the point in giving myself another app to obsess over (and I don't understand most of the stuff that's going on there anyways). The only times I hear about what's going on on these platforms is when my friends or other people talk about it. And what I've realised is that these obsessive fans really mess things up for the whole fandom. I think it's okay to be a stan if you know not to push your own opinion in other people's faces or to ceep it in the lines. But especially the toxic fans can destroy everything someone's build and it doesn't matter if this person was a big name or just starting their career. I have experienced people giving up on their career because of toxic and obsessive fans. These platforms are giving those kinds of fans a place to behave like they do and it's not the fault of the platforms but the fault of these fans. And for me Twitter is the biggest nest for these kind of people. And I don't like the threat of other people dragging me in their fights or potentially getting attacked myself. I get that Twitter can be great to connect with other people but it's just not for me. English isn't my first language so I'm sorry for any mistakes.

Just came back to this after Wilbur and Niki both deleted twitter. They seem happier :) and it kinda feels like in mcyttwt the dream smp side is slowly following in the same steps as smptwt. From what I see its mostly from the dreamtteamtwt and feraltwt side, I don't really interact with the community much and just see enough parts of it to see like their problems with it. Just like the whole thing with Kaceytron and the one with George. I don't like Kacey anymore cuz of the way she handled her little interrogation stream against Dream and how hypocritical the statement she had against Dream was (like so many other straight guys do the same thing like Schlatt or Karl but you single out Dream specifically ? just seems like she did it to get the Dream stans riled up) so I don't watch or engage with her and her content anymore but the way some of these stans handled it like I only follow like a couple of stans who mostly just post art but I've seen some people they follow do the exact things Wilbur said like she did bad things but some of these stans just keep bringing it up. Also the thing with George was he said a slur which was offensive towards Mexican people and apologized for it which was good of him to do but someone dug this shit up 10 years ago ??? like wtf... I think the Dream stans keep ignoring their biggest problem and its not even said by anyone who is against Dream but by Dream himself which is they care too much. I've seen threads that are just making problems out of nothing like I just wanna be emotional over art and not see that shit. I've even seen a thread that told CCs to stop making jokes about cancel culture like dudeeee how can they not when people cancel them for such stupid shit like how Karl for being rich and Tommy for his "slave" jokes (which aren't even offensive like we can joke about committing murder just like how we can joke about slavery things cuz we don't tie them to actual irl history ) and some of them say oh but its just supposed to be an educational thread and not a canceling one like the way you word it is just like a canceling thread. I just wish some twitter stans would listen to this rant and do a self reflection. so yeah thx for listening to my rant :)
