In our upcoming webinar "Wild Borneo", Chien Lee shares his exciting experience from his wildlife photography journey in the forests of Borneo along with conservation stories from the wild.
Biologist turned photographer, Chien Lee worked in California as an environmental educator prior to moving to Borneo in 1996, having discovered an incurable fascination with its equatorial rainforests. Photography has been his profession since 2003 but he now spends an equal amount of time conducting wildlife tours across the tropics, with at least nine months each year in the field. He is currently an honorary research fellow at the Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
Chien’s primary focus for the past two decades has been documenting the rich diversity of the rainforests of Southeast Asia through photography and in the process, he has succeeded in capturing the first-ever images of many rare and endangered species in the region. He uses his photography as a tool to help convey an understanding and appreciation of nature among all audiences, with the aim of promoting a stronger interest in conservation.
