In this video I'm on the way at 1300 meters high on the mountain in the forest with my dog Bonny.
I found a big fallen tree there and dug out a shelter at the big root and covered the roof with wood and tatp tend.
It was a very hard work and it was a very hoarse day!
I made myself a large beef steak for dinner. It was really tasty and very tender.
During the night it was really cool, the temperature was really good for sleeping!
I really liked the stay in the forest!

I ALWAYS wanted to build a shelter using the rootball of a fallen tree. Our water table was too high; there was always a pool under the rootball and that contributed to the tree falling. At least, I can ENJOY your build after all these years.

Exactly ... ... it may be a convincing build on a warm summer day in the dry season, however; given time it will fill up with water. Especially when located on the down hill side.

Nice shelter. Good food A dog to share it all with. Here where I live in Washington state, you want to carry a large caliber handgun, with plenty of stopping power, if you cook something like that steak. You can wind up with unwelcome visitors, in the form of black bears.

As a life long tent camper, I've put together a few nice camps, usually for two-three week stays. But never anything as awesome as this. What a dream camp space! So well done, especially your camp fire/stove/oven. And anyone who brings four red onions in their pack and plunks them in the fire to cook, is Extra Extra Camper. Cheers!

Kostas, great shelter build and camp👍👍 Lots of work again building and making camp but it looks great all finished. I can see the weather has really warmed up, looks humid up on the mountain as well. Bonny looks good as always, happy to be on the mountain with you. Excellent meal you had, steak and potatoes in the wild..tasty, after all that work I bet it was delicious. Thanks mate, great as always. Be careful about sweeping dirt sideways from the hip - you can tear or strain an adductor muscle. The adductors are an important group of muscles located on your inner thighs that serve to bring your legs toward the centre of your body. This motion of bringing your legs inward is called adduction. Abduction is sweeping your leg from the middle to outwards. The abductors are a little stronger that the adductors.

I watch this type of vlog in the knowledge that in a SHTF scenario I would not want to survive and live in a forest. Fun to watch from a comfortable couch in my well-stocked house, but it is only a romantic notion - I still see reliance on high-tech equipment in practically every similar vlog. Might as well use my energy to defend the homestead until the bitter end. I'll give it 6 months...

Smart shelter and less wasting energy and time by cutting too many wood pieces. Breaking wood over your knees or against trees is the way to go. You have a beautiful dog, a good companion and protector. God bless wilderness people.

I would camp as a kid, WELL, In the front yard as my mom looked out the window all night! But what you did takes a lot of work and creativity. WOW that's a great shelter, its quiet there here we have insects that make noise 24/7 they are a bit bigger than the grasshoppers and are brown, you can here them all day so we can not enjoy the quiet, so when I visit family I go outside to enjoy the quiet there; I only go there once a year it's over 1,000 miles away so we talk every night on cellphones; GREAT video, that was alot of work for a weekend LOL but looks worth it👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💚💚💚❤❤❤💜💜💜
