I get that. Nobody likes adverts or marketing but, I try and make videos that are entertaining, inspiring and informative about a subject that I’m very passionate about. I spend hours filming and editing yet lots of people object to me trying to earn a living from the hard work I put into the channel. I’ve grafted for 5 years and all I ask is that folk occasionally hit the like button. If people don’t like the adverts, or my content then they can either scroll past them or choose another video to watch(which may or may not have adverts too ). I have no issue with placing an ad on my content or taking sponsorship. I could easily take a sponsor for every video but choose not to. Squarespace is a product I have used long before an offer of sponsorship. I won’t take offers from products I don’t use myself.

If I threw money to every creator I enjoyed I’d have nothing left to buy food. If I can help by tapping on a like button or watching a commercial or two I’m fine with the lost time. I spend more time looking for matching socks to wear than the commercials run time anyway. 😁👍 Is the cam on the selfie stick the GoPro? Looks like a 360 cam with the pole isolated out of picture. Very nice footage and commentary.

Flicking,ing through various scarp1 videos and came across this one, seen it before but well worth a second look. If this doesn't make you want to get out in a tent then you might as well stop camping. Glorious sun set and sunrise and I just love the scarp 1, definitely get me and dog in there

Those views🔥💕 NEVER get old‼️ We go camping in all forms, ie Van, Motor Coach, Motorcycles) but tent camping has ALWAYS been my favorite‼️. You just simply can't beat a grand tent 😍.

Nice video Paul. Great tent. You forgot a pillow? 2 friends and I did a seakayak trip in Donegal. On going home day I emptied the Scarp 1 and made breakfast with the others jumped into the car and drove the 2 hours home. Having a cuppa at home I realised I had left the Scarp still standing in Donegal. Drove the 2 hours back and it was still there. 2 hours home again. If I had lost it I would have bought another one. Great wee tent but pricey.

Good for you Paul, fantastic tent , if I'm heading for a bothy, I take Solo or Lanshan pro as stand byes, but if I'm walking for a few days I take my Scarp 1, it's like my house comfortable, enjoy Paul, looks good.

Paul you re one of my favorite U.K. outdoorsman. Been watching you for a year now. I always enjoy your gear reviews & I cant fathom the fact you dont have any trees or shrubs to burn in your higher alitudes. I live in the wet coast of British Columbia across from Naniamo . I tend to pack the day before and I invariably remember I've forgot something when I'm in bed so I keep a note pad handy. Also I keep all my gear in one place so I won't forget things. I'm camping next weekend for 2 nights and because I'm on Keto and one meal a day all my food is in a little bag! Can't wait!!!!

Having had a go at putting a few vids on RU-vid myself I appreciate the time and effort that goes into it, not to mention the cost of the gear. I’ve no objections to a (small) bit of commercialisation if it means I can watch quality content of things that interest me. You can always watch the BBC if adds get on your wick.

Atta Boy Paul. Hello from a very jealous Canadian. Where are you? I love all those rocks, is it part of something that's since fallen down? We've just gone back into a pretty restrictive lockdown, so any plans we had are totally scrubbed for now. It is pretty ironic that you couldn't be more isolated than what you are doing, but under lockdown it's also not allowed ( here at least ) I do appreciate all the time & effort you've put into these videos. I've been using them to help figure out what stuff I need to update. Thanks.

@@samanthasummerday8460 impossible as far as I know. Your only hope would be keep searching eBay and then be willing for a bidding war when one finally comes up. I’m impatient so just bit the bullet and purchased it from the manufacturers; tarptent (the only stockists as far as I know). I had to pay 70 quid fees but in all was less than £500 delivered so significantly cheaper than any hilliberg. If at some point I decide to sell it I’m sure I’ll get what I paid so I’m not too bothered about the cost. Oh and I’ve had a night out in nine now, in some pretty strong winds on top of a 800mtr peak, and it held up amazingly. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Glad to see you out again! To help with condensation on the Scarp 1: you can loosen the nylon pocket straps that secure the main arch poll, this will allow you to lift up the fly doors on both sides of the tent and give you more ventilation. Cheers 🍻

My friend just bought the newer model of yhis tent, the main bar snapped the first day he used it. It was windy but his was the only tent to go. I think it may not be the best tent for bad weather conditions. He is in contact with Terra Nova now to try and get a replacement, they haven't been too great about which is a shame.

I used that tent in a heavy down pour and in the snow. Great for cold weather with the solid interior.

Awesome place to pitch too and right by a trig 👌🏻 Tent looks absolutely awesome mate bet you will have many great adventures to come with this 💯⛰🏕 I love my little Helm Compact 1 but one thing I do want sometimes is a little more room. Just width ways more than anything for my shoulders. Brilliant sunset too it looked, but that sunrise was even better with that frost too 😍😍😍 I was in the Lakes last weekend snd it got to -7° on the night but it was so clear there were stars beyond the stars haha, stayed out looking at them untill about 2300 layered up lol. Loved it all Paul thanks for showing us!! 👍🏻😊🍻 ATB... Chris

FYI: rubbing ice off your tent like that can destroy the DWR coating on your rain fly. My advice....pack it up wet, dry it out later.

The first Video I’ve Liked on RU-vid. As someone who hasn’t been able to get out and explore for the last few years due to family commitments. I’m now at the stage of getting out again hiking and camping. I’m also recording my hikes along the way as a complete novice photographer. Listening to you makes me excited to explore. 😂 An absolutely brilliant video that was!

I was thinking of a way you could heat and light your tent, I have seen in some of your video's you use a UCO Lantern, try what I do, replace the parafin candle with a bee's wax one, these do not produce Carbon Monoxide, they are pricey at £10.00 for 3, but they to take the edge off, and burn for about 10 hrs. I use them and the glow is nice.
