Wow! That is a very well mannered and gentle capercaillie. The ones that I've seen run up to people normally run up to them to try to fight them or at least to scare anyone away.
They are protected under the wildlife and countryside act. Injuring, harming, killing or disturbance of the nest can be made into a fine or a short prison scentence
