I don't know how this escaped me for 2yrs, just a great interview. Spending time with Pat and his beautiful wife Deb just roping on Sunday mornings in Santa Paula remain some of the best times of my life.

Jeremy you said just what I have been thinking about Pat. I have not got the privilege of meeting him face to face but I respect him because I trust him. He has away of teaching things about a horse that easy to understand. I have only been riding 3 years but everything I know about riding and communicating to a horse is what I learned from Pats videos. I pray one day to meet him buy him dinner. I owe him a lot.

So glad this video showed up on my RU-vid. I watch Pat's videos and have a ton of respect for his horsemanship. This video fills me in on his background with horses. I wish he would talk about more of his history on his own channel. Love hearing about the Heart 6.

I am a subscriber to Pat & Deb's RU-vid page - Pat is a inspiration to me - one of the "realist" people in a time, of social media, where anyone can 'pose' and be accepted as real. I love his no nonsense approach to life (which, after listening to your podcast, is clear came from his life experiences). Thank you for this podcast and the insight that you gave us into Pat's background and life.

Jeremy, I've started listening to your channel. But Pat is one hell of a communicator. If Pat n Deb ever come back to Australia come by the Lockyer Valley Queensland. 🇦🇺

This is SE PA here. I have been a horseman all my life and a fellow Nam vet who's been watching Pat for several years. Pat can teach more horsemanship and true life in 30 minutes than imaginable. Someday...someday I hope to meet him. I R&Red in Australia, fell in love with the folks and country. I had the blessing of going on a station for several days and help bring in 3,000 head of sheep. A good memory.

Glad I ran across this. I’ve always enjoyed Pat’s videos (and his dry humor). He’s right about learning the correct way to start colts. It sure does open up a lot of understanding about the horse. Like Pat, I was lucky to run across people like Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman to learn a little about that. It sure changed my approach. Nowadays I don’t start colts anymore, but one of these days I hope to run across Pat at one of his clinics. He has a lot of good stuff to pass on to those willing to learn. Vaya con Dios, Pat and Jeremy.

I wonder when Pat was on the Crow reservation cowboying did he ever meet Glen Swank? Glen was a good friend of mine in his later years. The best advice about working cattle I ever got was from Glen....."the fastest way to trail cattle is slowly".

The hippie stories were funny. Years ago in the heart of logging country in Oregon close to Salem...know a story of some crazy loggers had a hippie blocking the road or they thought he was Sabotating the gate to the woods. They got a chainsaw and cut off all his dreads. Wild. Turned out his dad was a high power lawyer in Portland and they had to downsize their logging operation over it.

Gonna have to disagree with it being a matter of respect to go talk spanish to people in Montana. Quite a bit of disrespect on their part actually. If you're visiting Mexico or some place, then absolutely. But if you're in the U.S. and they can't be bothered to even do something so simple as speak the native tongue of a place that gives them such opportunity, much less assimilate to the culture, then that's a huge middle finger to America and everyone that put their lives into building the traditions and culture that made America so great.
