My Sons Father and I divorced 45 years ago. Our Son was 2. My X could call anytime for a visit or overnight. He was an equal as a parent. Once our Son learned to use the phone, he would call or Dad would call him. Next thing I knew, was Dad knocking on the door and my Son looking at me and said “oh yeah, my Dads coming.” My Son was free to move between both homes. Dad always made sure our Son was prepared and where he needed to be before school. We were always on the same page about his raising. We all share family events together. We decided very early on, that neither of us would ever want to be excluded. Much respect.

You pick the right man to have a child with, and even when the relationship doesn't work out, your child still has great parents.

I love hearing stories like this. It always amazes me when I see two parents with only their kid's best interests in mind. Setting aside their hurt feelings and focusing on what matters rather than petty grievances to get back at eachother. My parents divorced when I was still an infant and it was not at all amicable. What followed for the next 18 years was my parents playing tug-of-war with me. I can't begin to tell you the effect being the messenger between 2 angry adults had on my life up until now. People don't realize how their actions can profoundly effect their kids, for life. I have a hard time telling people "no" or setting boundaries. This people pleasing had led to being a doormat for men to take advantage of in almost all my romantic relationships. The mere thought of getting married and having children is so terrifying to me that it's never been close to being an option. Wow. Sorry for that rant. Thank you for being a good parent to your kid.

As the child of divorce who was not able to have a relationship with my father until I was almost 30 due to my mother’s manipulation and interference, I have to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for what you and your ex did for your child. I can’t begin to tell you how much I would have valued that kind of co parenting so much rather than what I experienced. I hope your son appreciates how much his parents obviously love him to have been so willing to work together. It is scary how many people hate their ex more than they love their child. Thank you for making YOUR child the most important factor…not always easy I’m sure, but you clearly did an amazing job!

The way she smirks the whole time she talks about not seeing her son seems very psychotic.

That's not what the word psychotic means and misusing the word psychotic harms people who have psychotic disorders, like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, brief psychotic disorder, postpartum psychosis, or who otherwise experience psychosis or take anti-psychotics. Happy Disability Pride Month.
@nicoleaustin5563
@nicoleaustin5563 2 года назад
@@thirdprince4028 I am not misusing the word. Smirking and smiling like that while saying what she was saying appeared that she was not in the same reality we are. She was saying something that was sad and upsetting but smiling and smirking. So in my opinion she appeared as if she was psychotic. I have a son that has schizophrenia and when he has his episodes he does the same thing. So please don’t speak to me in such a condescending way when you really had no idea what I meant by that. You interpreted it incorrectly.

@@nicoleaustin5563 No, you're still using it incorrectly. Nothing about her behavior indicates psychosis. I worked in the child welfare field for many years. Supervising agencies all have different policies regarding how they schedule and confirm visitation appointments. They tend to be even more defined and restricted if there's a history of lack of compliance and/or participation. So the agency requesting a written confirmation of intention to keep the visit, or else the visit is cancelled, is not uncommon - especially if she has a history of no-show. I have seen cases where the supervisor will not even retrieve the child until the visiting parent shows up, to avoid putting the child through the process of going into the agency for the visit, only to be disappointed.

Around the 20th minute I'm getting a very strong and repeatedly affirmed feeling that this "trip with grandma" is her actually planning to take the kid and run. I don't even think she's fully aware that's what she's planning. It's like the guy from Falling Down. He didn't know his plan is to find his family, kill them and kill himself, but that was his plan.

I bet that judge is a total freak in the sheets. There has to be something deviant about a person with that flat of a demeanor or personality. It's either that or he's a potential serial killer. Maybe both and he could get away with it too because who would ever suspect or believe it. I've heard of stranger things. He's so calm and soft spoken that he sets off an alarm within me. He has to burn it off somehow with something completely opposite. He probably trains falcons or something super cool 🤣

It amazes me how people think that notarizing a document somehow guarantees the veracity of the content and therefore admissible as irrefutable evidence…WRONG. The only Thant that notarizing does is indicate the identity of the person either central to or submitting the document has been cross-checked, and that the document was signed by that confirmed individual in the presence of the Notary. That’s it. That’s all it does.
@cdrone4066

Notarizing just verifies the signature, not the contents. An affirmation or affidavit is verifying the contents.

The way I look at it, she doesn’t put forth the effort to have visitation with the child such as replying to the supervisors to set up her visitation time. However she wants to take the child to a family reunion to parade him around like she’s a good mother and is actively involved. She’s a narcissist and it’s all about how she’s viewed and how the child views her so she’s trying so hard to coach him to make herself out to be the victim in her child’s eyes, she doesn’t actually care how he feels or what he wants.

I worked at a shelter for children and we had supervised visits and both parties have to confirm the time and we would call them and need a response in order to keep it. Other wise kids get highly upset if the parent doesn't show. If it's 250 dollars an hour your paying for the room and the time of the supervisor to be there. It depends on how much they pay the supervisors and the judge or social workers can get the payments down we had some pay nothing because they have nothing. Some paid 20 and than they got paid by the cou ty for the rest

It is really sad to see such acrimony in divorce cases (whether one-direction or bi-directional), though I know it is very common. Fortunately, my wife and I have been happily married for 35 years. However, if things had turned out differently, I cannot fathom that either of us would do anything that is not in the best interest of the children. Even if we somehow grew to "hate" each other, I am confident that we would both recognize the best interest of the children. I guess I just chose better than some men.

I'm divorced & we had a custody battle, but that's because we both loved him. Custody was awarded to me, but I always consulted his father. The court decision would have involved our son being on the road every Christmas. We decided rather than do that, he spent Christmas with one parent one year & the other parent the following year. Also, if a trip or special event occurred, we wanted our son to be treated to it, regardless of visitation. Things worked out.

I have friends who have separated & remarried. They left before the hatred started which is very hard on them, however they put their daughters first always. Result was happy daughters who knew they had two parents who loved them unconditionally & two step parents who they called either by their first name or uncle. The other only wanted first name. I was lucky in that when my hubby & I had problems my parents didn't take sides, they would telme if I was being overdramatic. We are still together & more in love.

@@gleefulme9617 Just curious, did you love your son enough to arrange for him to keep one stable home, while the parents switched houses every few days or weeks?
@gleefulme9617
@gleefulme9617 2 года назад
@@vizzini2510 That didn't happen. The judge gave me the house & told my husband he would have to leave. Our divorce hearing lasted 8 hrs. The judge got a good idea of what I had to put up with. He was a poor husband.

I agree . You gotta love your child more than you hate your ex 💯 and many are the opposite and hate their ex more than they love the child .

Oh wow , so since she has to have supervised visitations with the child she gets around it by calling the child to try to manipulate the child .

My parents divorced when I was 14. As much as I hated it my dad knew I was at a point in life where I’d be going through things that I’d be more comfortable talking to my mother about but I’d always see him through the week and weekends whenever he and I wanted. We’d call each other as much as we wanted. When I stayed with him he made sure I was at school and picked up on time. He and my mom had issues with each other but never bad mouthed each other around me and the were always civil in front of me. They were awesome about staying on the same page as far as my well-being was concerned. And I always wondered why other people couldn’t manage that…. Mikes shows never disappoint 😊👍

Small note Mike. We saw those four other witnesses ( mostly bored to death ) that Karen WANTED to bring on to TESTIFY for her. Judge didn't want to hear their ' testimonies '... I'll bet Karen was so upset especially since she probably COACHED them as to what to say for her. About the slightly more elderly woman in top right with the nice orange nails you mentioned who was on phone the whole time.. I'm willing to bet that WAS Grandma with Birthday. (Was probably listening to her daughter Karen ) *Karen voice/tone at beginning: Right off the bat I got the ' feel " that Karen was doing sort of a soft/demure/sexy vibe projection. ( Watch again ) Some Amber ' acting '. Too fake- Did NOT seem natural. And the vibe was sort of gone toward the end.

The mother needs to be put in jail, she needs a wake up call. Her involving the child is ABUSE. CHILDERN BLAME THEMSELVES THEN LEADS TO SELF HARM , DRUGS AND SEXUALL ACTIVITIES LOOKING FOR AFFECTION AND VALIDATION

Initially when I starting hearing case, sympathetic towards mother. We moved a lot for my husband's career and so I had to quit part-time jobs and give up small businesses. So when we were getting divorced after 26 yrs, it was tough as I had to go back to university to get a good paying job, while he made $160,000 a year. He used money to constantly bring case after case although he lost them all. Eventually I was so broke, I had to roll over. As they say, "he with deepest pocket wins." BUT in this case, I sided with dad although a much better income.

I’m so glad me and my ex were civil with each other over our daughter. She had custody because who are we kidding in divorce’s mom 90% of the time gets custody but it worked out because I had to leave the home and took me a little while to get another home but she never fought me on seeing her and if my daughter wanted to come over on a off weekend that was okay too. All that matters in these cases are the children it’s whatever is best for them

Does mom realize in such contentious custody cases EVERYTHING will be in writing? That includes ALL judge's orders, ALL correspondence between parents, and ALL contact with the person/people supervising custody. It's obvious she isn't a reasonable and honest person. You'd think a parent with only 2 hours of semi-monthly SUPERVISED visitation would do ANY and EVERYTHING possible to see their child. This is clearly a case of a parent who hates her ex more than she loves her child. I'd really like to know why this mother was only granted supervised visitation. What little has been presented here, especially what the mother has said herself during this hearing, leads me to believe this mother is not stable, and supervision is 100% warranted! The judge is almost disturbingly calm. I would have steam coming out of my ears!

So,my sister married a cad ,put him through law school , then divorced him him on his 3rd affair. She's spent the last 30+ years single and drinking ,never recovering. He's been divorced 2 more times but is happily married and has done legal work for my family free of charge worth thousands , he's still the same happy go lucky guy . Women just don't roll with the punches like men . This woman is completely irrational and doesn't care ,this is her Gettysburg, at this point you could replay this to her and she'd be pissed because she left a few minor points out.
