You can rescue them too, but most importantly, do not harm them. Do not hunt, fish, buy animal products or abuse them in any other way.

Sadly, despite best efforts, spme rescues aren't always successful or the animal comes away unharmed. It's still worthy of the effort though. Humans as a species, are powerful and destructive. With often little care or awareness given to damage done. Premier example? Our atmosphere, see the difference during COVID when majority world stopped driving/flying/boating.

Most likely the scenario was setup (he trapped the deer) and then filmed it for monetization.

People who live in forests, generally will walk them often, for whatever reason. Might be on or near his property. So, good thing for the deer that he happen to be there.

Or it's just a dumb, clueless deer who doesnt understand anything and just acts on pure instinct. Human beings love to delude themselves that animals have the same thought processes and emotions that humans do.. but there is zero evidence of that.

Yup. If you walk a trail, there's a good chance there are abandoned snares left along it just yards off the track. So there's always a chance a pet or wild animal could be caught. Having pliers with a wirecutter can save a life when seconds cound.

I don't begrudge people of faith for having hope or believing whatever comforts them, so long as they're not passively waiting for their deity to do something while they do nothing. In most religious texts, followers are told to have courage, which, in my mind, means having the courage to actually do something about injustices instead of expecting that justice will only be meted out upon death. The most inspirational religious people I've ever seen or met make the world a better place through concrete action, instead of waiting for their god to do it for them.
