Wild Elephant Survey 2024 organized by the Department of Wildlife Conservation | Sri Lanka 

🐘 Wild Elephant Survey 2024, organized by the Department of Wildlife Conservation aimed to estimate the number of wild elephants and tuskers in Sri Lanka and understand their distribution across the island. The survey occurred during the dry season, spanning 48 hours (2 days) around the full moon Poya day. The method is called A water hole count, We observed and counted elephants visiting a water hole at Borawala in Block 2 of Yala National Park.
