Sorry about the audio - I tried to make it consistent, but not well enough😅Coming soon are several other videos from this event. Stay tuned! WOW!! I adopted 2 mustangs from your video! 2392 and the red roan mare ! 25:07 what are the odds ???? I adopted her from TN. I don’t know how to post the picture of her with us. She’s soo sweet .
I love seeing the "behind the scenes" moments here, and I think it's so valuable for all Mustang lovers to get a better sense of what the horse's experience is like at these events. An online friend of mine just bought a Mustang that has been trained under saddle and asked me for resources so she could better understand his journey. Of course I sent her here! Did you mention the necktag number at all for any of the 2 yr olds? The gray that had food stuck in (his?) mouth looked nice and drafty. But I missed his number if it was in there. So cool to see some of the IA horses, especially the ones that are still available! My heart went out to the horse sitting towards the end--looks so tired or overwhelmed or colicky or something. I can see this is rough on some of them... Thank you for traveling in a whirlwind day to film this event!
***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** ***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** ***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** ***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** ***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** ***SPOILERS AS I COMMENT AS I WATCH!**** sorry this is hard to read lol, i was excited! omg the anxiety with the delays! I was lucky enough to fly direct to Raleigh but my flight home to PA was delayed by FOUR HOURS 😵 I got home at 1 am. My original ETA was 9pm. Aww that attendant who announced to let those with connections out first! That was kind
It was nice meeting you as well! I loved that I met someone else crazy enough to fly into one of these events! 😂 it was so cool going and seeing all the horses (and yea, those babies were so adorable!!!). Hopefully, I’ll be able to do more of these and I’ll probably see you in Annville next year! 😂
Thanks for posting this. I'd been debating about driving to an Adoption event 2 hours away from me (mainly because I have to be back by a certain time to take care of my mom). After seeing all that you went through in a single day, a 2 hour drive for me is nothing. Thanks for the inspiration!
If any of you are interested in many of these horses. Rebecca at Fall Creek Falls Equestrian in Pikeville TN has many of them. I adopted the flax n mane 2392 and another mare. 3508 is 8 years old and has an amazing disposition . There are many from This video that are still available looking for good homes. I almost adopted 1473 from Her the beautiful gray mare, but changed it to the 2392 because she was too sweet to pass up.
Oh my gracious, what a great video and a great day trip. And you know I nearly cried when you gave a shot of #2772. I still have her photo here on my computer, and I pray that her new owners are loving her and giving her Alfalfa like we give candy to grandkids. She is such a sweet girl. and YOU, we are so excited for you to be able to do things like this. It had to be hard to not adopt another when you were there. Thank you for the efforts and for sharing.
Thanks for taking us on this journey VT to NC. Unbelievably, I haven’t been on a plane myself in years, so seeing you above the clouds and checking in w/your horse sitter brings back memories. Sometimes at night, I like the white noise of A/C because it reminds me of those quiet redeye AA NS flights I used to take LAX to BOS RT, home to see family, then home again to see my dogs. It was always an adventure, but I really don’t envy fliers nowadays. Anyway, it’s good you got to see D.C. - and most of all, made it to Raleigh! The mustangs are all so lovely to me, though, I don’t know how you choose… 12:39 Personally, I was curious about that “Grulla Female Horse/Wyoming”, 9, no. 2911, as I love her older age, and that’s my bd, Nov. 29.😉 30:01 Also, I must now check out Emily’s “Sisters Horsing Around”.😊
I love flying, but forgot how stressful it can be😂 yes, there is an overwhelming amount of horses- I can’t imagine what it would be like if I actually arrived on time 😂
Great job thanks for enduring the marathon trip so all of us could be there so to speak. I wonder how many people were lucky enough to get the horse's they set out for and how many saw a different horse once they were there that caught their eye so they changed their mind. I've been watching videos from mustang's round ups all day. Wish we could put an end to the BLM and the suffering they cause wild mustang's. It's heartbreaking ten hour's viewing videos of horses that deserve better.😮😢
I enjoy every video that you make my friend, you have real talent!! 🤗 I was so hoping that you would adopt every horse there, because I know how great of a horse trainer you are and because you truly love horses, they deserve you and you deserve them!❤🐎🐎🐎 🐎 You are absolutely awesome sweet Britta and I am so happy that you are home, it's scary being a gorgeous young beautiful lady traveling alone you have to be so incredibly careful all the time! This video was perfect my friend and I thank you for making it and editing it and sharing it! There is nothing that you can't do sweet Britta ❤ your friend, Didi 👵 🖐
Terrific video! I love how you bring them into our eyes as individuals. Going to see them in person took it a step further. I’m wondering about the ones with the trimmed manes. Are they ones that had been put under and gelded? I also had to wonder about the ones that sought out human contact. I know you said they had good minds. Could it also be that they have had some handling, perhaps escaped or released horses into the wild? Or maybe they’ve been in holding long enough that they got more used to humans? Finally, as an armchair equestrian, is it just me or does the guy who separates them out have a really dangerous job? He certainly seems to know exactly what he’s doing. And my oh my mustangs are fast! I don’t think it ever really occurred to me before but when they moved it is so beautiful. Thanks for putting together this good long video. I really hope you can continue doing this and see where it leads you.
This was a beautiful video! Love seeing local things as someone who lives in NC, but it was so weird to see the airport I go to haha. 2772 really caught my eye. She was so beautiful, and you could see how gentle she was just through the screen. I hope all of these beautiful horses and other equines are getting all the help, care, and rehab they need, as well as plenty of love and food. God knows they deserve it.
Oh my gosh, 29:40 that horse is So cute sitting and relaxing! 2781 is so pretty.. I dont know how I could have gone and not taken her home with me! 😅 Loved this vlog!
Run run run okay now sit on tarmac and wait .... run run run again. THAT is my pet peeve with flying. Oh wouldn't it be nice to have the funds and property to buy all the adoptable ones you liked, get them shipped, then spend all your time working with them. It'll come with time have no fears. Just keep doing what your doing, slow and steady builds the stables I hear! How tired were you after being up and on the go for 22+ hours AND what happened with Theo? Did he really break the lock or has he learned how to open it?
Haha I sure hope for that in the future! I’m feeling pretty burnt out this year😅 Theodore did break a latch that was on a chain! It wasn’t super heavy duty, but I didn’t expect him to lean so hard on a gate😂 he does know how to open latches too!
Sisters Horsing Around. I friggin’ love it!! I teach inner city youth every day and I am going to turn them on to these young ladies for sure!! Always looking for examples to share when they give me the no confidence act. BS. Motivate, focus, and just go for it and take as much from the experience as possible. Ya never know, ya might find a life long passion as a career!!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Love your videos, I get watching them and don’t get my work done ❤. Would still like to meet you at an auction. I’m in the process of getting things done to get 1/2 horses.
Thanks for watching! Yea, the unadopted ones head back to the holding facilities, and either will continue being offered for adoption or as a sale authority, or possibly go into long-term holding.
For being in BLM care, they look on the thin side. I'm a bit surprised. Of course, they are probably a bundle of nerves with all the banging and clanging. I adopted 4 and they are the best and easiest to train if you do it the natural way.
Yea, they were pretty thin. I’d be curious to know where they were all coming from (I know many, but not all, of the IA horses were from Wheatland, WY) Good for you for adopting a little herd! They truly are amazing animals!
You're based in Vermont? why did I think you were from out west somewhere? Awesome! I need to ask, how does the BLM comfortably and SAFELY transport these lovely creatures thousands of miles? Do they come in on trains?
WHENEVER you’re in a plane/time crunch, tell the steward & they will try to set up 1) a hold on your connection flight and 2) priority exit from the plane plus assistance getting from there to the connecting flight! This is routine! Act like your family owns all the airline stock! 😂 I quit flying (landing in New Orleans = rough storms) after 1) plane circled around The Tornado, & 2) -pre-Doppler radio-plane crashed on landing from downdraft-all killed plus many families on the ground in New Orleans! Missed my parents home, direct line, by 2 blocks. It’s much better now Doppler is installed, but it’s cheaper to pay for the dead than to have a flight delay. “Cost benefit analysis.” I do not fly any longer.
In dealing with airport counter people, be pleasant, but then bring out the Millionsire’s Stare. Tell them to call the supervisor, and be quick about it. Don’t be rude but don’t be “understanding.” You paid for your ticket & you expect proper service!!! Of course, taking flights in questionable weather is how you get killed.
@@TheProjectEquestrian It's very sad because I know they've been in human care for at least a little bit at this point. It does seem to be a facility issue somewhere. By the way I apologize for such a generic, short ended comment it was really late when I watched this. I did enjoy watching this adventure to N. Carolina. I was recently at the airport this past month too and I'm just shocked at how many flights get delayed nowadays. I'm sure missing that connection was a bit scary. You are far braver or more determined than me because if I had to rely on a taxi or uber to get to my destination alone I'd be a bit timid. Hopefully the event wasn't to far away from the airport. I would love to go to one of these events sometime. Perhaps I'll just have to try it one day. Your motivation to just do it is very inspiring. God bless you Britta.
5 min in. This is why you plan for shit to go wrong. It's better to find yourself with extra time then to stress the whole trip. Hopefully you never have to endure that again
Airlines need to get their crap together. No one with connecting flights should have to race to their next flight! There's old people, people with kids in tow, disabled people... it's just NOT acceptable!!! I've had to race to my flights before even getting to the airport early. Once they even sent me to the wrong gate and gave last minute notice the gate was switched!!! I barely made it to my flight. Its just not good business and definitely not okay. Maybe they shoukd get out their little buggies and drive the people to their flight faster! Absolutely need to refund your money or get you a free flight because it's their fault and they shoukd take responsibility!
The video is good except for you too much blah blah blah get to the point show the auction show the adoption don't care about in between flights and all of that on😢
LOL! I totally get it - I actually have a sticky note on my laptop that says “NOBODY CARES”. However this was a pivotal time in my life and I was also making this video, really, for myself to look back on. Knowing that, I choose to put in what nobody cares about , and I’m glad I did! This really was a turning of a corner, and I think when I look back in 10 years, I’ll see it was actually life changing. Already I’ve had many opportunities come - but only because I took this step. And those are snowballing into more. But you are right- as a creator, doing that sort of thing isn’t good. It’s important to get to the point. But this video was a little different 🙂
Being gentle and having a good mind are two different things BLM needs to pull these mustangs off government land and put bison back Buffalo were here first therefore they should be here mustangs have to go.
