Wild medicinal herbs broad leaf plantain and ribwort plantain for antihistamines 

Found this in my garden. My search led me to this website. I plan to cultivate this plant.. Thank you

I've been using this for years to make "hot air balloons" for the kids by pulling the stem down the leaf on the strands completely unaware of how useful it actually is!!!

I was brought up in inner Liverpool so we didn't see these plants or have anybody to pass on knowledge about plants. I moved to Cumbria over thirty years ago but only recently had time to really look at plants now I'm retired. It's fascinating to me to not only be able to identify the plants but also learn their properties. Thank you.

I used rib wort plantain for an advancing spider bite that was melting the side of my face and a black growing wound that I tried many other herbs and clay that didn’t help. I was walking by this plant and a memory ‘insect bites’. I chewed it and placed it on the wound. Immediate relief! The buzzing stoped and it as almost healed in three days of using it in morning and at night. I stopped using it and he buzzing came back. So I placed it on wound all night and after a week and half the wound healed completely. It will always stand in honor in my garden!

How to preserve the plant for later use dry them ? i collected some plantain today

Nearly 2 years ago I learned about this plant, and to my delight, I now have dozens of these little plants growing in the gravelly bits in my yard! However, I do have this question: because I have a large dog in my yard, should I avoid harvesting this plant seeing as she has likely peed on several of them?

Its better if you leave it there The pain of a sting will return if removed I have used this sevral times when my children were younger
