I had a peach face for 17 yrs. Watched hatch when i wasbin 5th grade. 2yrs ago he died. Well handled and youll see why they are called lovebird. Plus he grew up in a house with conures so he didnt sound like a normal lovebird. Rest in peace tookie.
Well a hundred years ago there was the Carolina parakeet was roaming around north america and went extinct because of humans. I hope that these birds don’t suffer the same fate
What happened to carolina parakeets was sad but these are no carolina parakeets, make no mistake. They're originally from namibia. There are still extant native Amazona viridigenalis and Psittacara holochlorus in Texas.
Actually Lovies love spicy peppers... mine will freak out and dance when i pull out my home dried ones (cause he is my spoiled brat). In fact peppers are designed so birds eat them but not mammals.
I live in Chandler and I have over 20 that show up each morning between 8-9 and then they come again in the evening between 3-4 to eat. I put out seeds and fruit for them. I absolutely LOVE them!! 🦜🥰 I built a little bird feeding station in my yard and have seen some of the craziest things! Great Horned Owl - but I think he was waiting for a cat. A Cooper's Hawk that bombed the feeders trying to catch some birds. Love birds, blue doves, Inca doves, Albert's Tohees, mourning doves, and so many more that I haven't identified yet. With the plandemic lockdowns and losing my job.... this has helped with my sanity a bit 🤪
I was over in Scottsdale and happened to see a few in a parking lot! I had to look them up because they seem so out of place here. I love that they've managed to adapt!
*there are a bunch A BUNCH of parrots in southern California and theyre soooo cute. Ive never seen one up close but they are JUST THE CUTEST, they flock and squawk they also live in palm trees*
I always see these birds in Chandler near the mall, I had to look twice the first time. I was like wtf is that a parrot? Lol but they're cute. Now my question has been answered.
If wild love birds could live in Arizona, couldn’t other birds live in Arizona? There’s so many predators here (I live in AZ) and yet somehow they seem to survive! Not letting any birds free, I’m not crazy, just a thought.
The Phoenix area is also home to the Bald Eagle now, tho I've yet to see one. I swear I hear parakeets as well, I figure if parrots can make it, they probably can as well.
I have a giant mesquite in my backyard and these guys will carpet bomb anything I leave underneath, they build these huge circular nests in palm trees, sounds like a bird party in there!
A non-native species is not always invasive within a habitat into which it is introduced, and this applies to captive wildlife, such as a tegu (reptile), or a domesticated animal, such as a cat. If the organism does not outcompete native organisms for food/water, shelter, or reproductive space, nor reduces the population of the native species, it remains non-native and should be monitored. If a non-native species kills large numbers of native species, vectors zoonoses, or degrades the environment in any way, or causes extirpation or extermination of native species, this qualifies a non-native organism as invasive. The reporter (accidently) contradicted himself, so it's unclear as to whether this species is or is not invasive relative to native species. 🤔
I had 2 of those birds 🐦 i bought for my mom one day the cage fell and they ran away i hope there in ARIZONA now not in los Angeles now 😢. I got the birds for 12 bucks each the only good part of the story ;-;
yikes. They're wild, happy, and obviously don't cause any kind of harm. Let them be. Shame on you if you chose to take birds away from their flocks and familes for your selfish desires.
@@bradleymiller437 what you gonna do sell em? who tf would want to buy a wild aggressive bird from a random man when they can get one from a breeder or pet shop thats socialized, and actually meant to be a pet.
@@ppoverheat6223 i think the birds i got handed down to me because of their wild behaviour were probably caught wild, they were originally 10 dollars each
