The biggest risk of freezing your lane is getting dived by the laner and the enemy jungler. If they kill you, you will lose 2 or more waves of minions that had stacked up by the freeze and , not to mention that your turret will probably get destroyed as well. The good thing is if your lane is frozen in front of your own turret, the enemy laner will be very easy to gank when they try to go for cs. You are relativly safe unless they try to dive you.

I really need this, especially as a jungle main so I can fix my laner's wave or prevent them from having a bad wave

YES! Finally... someone makes a video explaining this in more detail, thank you. It's a fundamental in the game, and I do not understand why no one made a video on it. I get to concept but don't fully understand when, and the terms of the wave control in certain situations.

Day 85 of requesting draven guide :') EDIT: At 2:09, the risk of freezing waves is if either you get ganked or you go back on your base, the enemy minions will be stacked at the point where the enemy can push your lane very easy and by doing that you will lose a lot of gold and xp, The good thing about freezing the waves is you will deny a gold and xp to the enemy champion in your lane.

2:08 the bad thing is that if you want to ingage there are a lot of minions attacking you, the good thing is that you can farm by staying safe in that spot

This was much needed, you need to start making more guides like this for specific lanes, although we get to see what you do in your gameplay but actually explaining when you rotate and when not would be pretty useful for players that are struggling. Keep up the good work! ;)

Freezing for ganks, shoving also for ganks and lane prio, slow pushing also for lane prio. Some players on low elo wouldn't know the difference when to do it or even how to do it they just take cs and don't help objectives. Even on some high elo players it happens. This video is a wonderful tip to understand minion wave control, hoping to see some improvement in the game the next few weeks lol

Great video hope it helps a lot of people. I see so many people just rambo minions no plan besides kill and push. In baron and any lane you can get lvl and gold advantage fast with this info.

If you freeze your lane + You can take some damage to stop them from going as you wanted, to safely farm + Stacking up your lane until it's huge then they can flood down to the enemy lane provide you more dps to turrets, 1v1s, 1v2s - If enemy decided to engage when you're freezing, their jungler will push into you, put you in high risk of a turret dive

Sorry im late for the answer but here 2:07 the advantage of freezing lane in your turret is for the enemy to get hard in taking minions cause its near the turret and they're forced to get near the turret for gold and exp

I think the best thing that could have happened for me is I used to be a fizz mid main so I understand lots about the laning phase. I then swapped roles to jungle since I started to gain a loss streak due to having bad jungles. I knew when and where to gank since I would look at how lanes were doing and it has helped me in becoming a super good jungle player.

Thanks a lot mate, as a person who never played these kind of games before this vid helped me understand a couple more strats and not just blindly kill minions etc just for the sake of it, and it definetly taught me not to attack while the wave is around

Freezing. Benefit: enemy has to step up to danger zone in order to get XP and farm, good for your jungler to gank or to deny resources. Danger: the enemy can roam, get vision and create numbers advantage elsewhere on the team, possibly diving you with a jungler if the waveclear is sufficient. about Slowpush I experimented with numbers and killing off 2 minions in mid to late game seems to be the best for it to slowpush. About slowpush against you - i believe it is inevitable that the wave bounces back from a turret, you just have to deal with it and build another splitpush and watch the magic happen : )

Freezing is good especially if the enemy is aggressive and not letting you farm (in the enemy’s case, he/she’d want to push out the lane for a reset) also good if your jungler is nearby to create that space for a gank Cons include allowing the enemy laner to roam and gank other lanes, or even getting that lane pushed fast if you recall in the midgame

2:08 Freezing the lane can be used to done to play offensively or defensively. Defensive method: Deny enemy farm while getting farm. Offensive method: Forces the enemy to overextend to get farm. Gives alot of opportunities for your jungler to gank or for you to capitalize on the enemy's mistakes. Risk of freezing: When you're ganked, enemy can push your lane and get the tower plating or even the entire turret if enemy minion wave is big enough.

Yesssssss I never thought u would upload this thz u so much.

Its good cause you’ll be able to farm without taking to much risk cause you are close to your tower, cause nasus needs to farm a lot, freezing is good for him. Also cancels some farm for the enemy cause ally minions are under your tower , and if the laner enemy stays it’s worth. But it also makes the enemy laner able to rotate to another lane. And You can’t really back in this position, cause you have to push the lane before. Did write before your explanations ^^

It doesn’t matter how close you are to the wave what matters is the ability you use you can use garen spin or Ahri charm and not take minion damage but if you use a TARGETED ability like like kayle’s third ability you will get minion aggro that’s why all auto attacks cause minion aggro

Like some of the comments said, I think enemies diving is the main risk for freezing lanes. And it's even worse in Drag lane where even the jungler comes in for the dive along with 2 more enemies

2:00 good thing about freezing is you can deny enemies gold(and exp if they are not in lane) while u getting gold and exp and not over extending The bad thing is if the enemy jungle gank u when u freezing enemy laner+enemy jungler+enemy minions are gonna attack you and if your champ is not good at 1v2 you will die under your turret

QOTD: Benefits: if you are weak then u can farm easily as if the enemy comes too close to wave to attack you he is gonna take minions aggro. If u r stronger u can zone the enemy by freezing. Risk: u lose lot if minions if u die to jungler gank

I think the benefits of freezing the lane would possible be that it's less likely that you will get killed if you were to be ganked since you can quickly get to tmyour turret

0:40 actually minions don't attack you if you damage enemy champions with a non lock-on ability (even if you are on top of them). Basic attacks and lock-on abilities are what makes minions attack you. This is one of the reasons why Fiora is so oppressive in lane (also Garen's spin-2-win), because her first ability isn't a lock-on ability, and thus she's able to attack you without tacking minions damage, whereas for many other champions they rely on basic attacks or targeted abilities and get damaged by the minions.

If u freeze the lane the enemy has to overextend to get minions which makes him vulnerable to ganks and he has to go far to reach the safety of his turret whilst u have the turret right next to you. But a big minion wave builds up near your turret so if the enemy kills you u lose a lot of minion gold and he might get your turret

risk of freezing lane is that enemy can roam while u can't rotate because if u do you'll lose a lot of exp and gold. the good thing about freezing on the other hand is that you're not vulnerable to ganks.

The risks are that if you freeze to many minions then fight someone while near them then you can take a lot more damage. A good thing a freezing the wave is that it gives your minions time to get to you in the lane so you can take a turret easier.

TYK - Benefits of freezing a wave is that the enemy has to iver extend but the risks are that the enemy can push the wave under the turret pretty fast and it might be hard to get a recall.

TYK: freezing your lane keeps you from rotating and allows the enemy laner to leave. However the enemy laner has to give up gold if they choose to leave. If they don’t leave and try to farm while the lane is frozen, they risk being ganked by your jungler since the wave is closer to your turret if frozen properly.

The bad thing abt freezing lane is when u are dead, the large amount of opponent freezed creeps will push to demolish your turret and if your turret is not demolished, u lose a ton lot of gold... The good thing abt freezing lane is if ur opponent dies, your creep push to demolish their turret and if the turret not demolished, yr opponent lose a ton lot of gold... And one more good thing abt freezing lane is u can roam around to help your teammates while yr large amount of freezed creeps pushing...

Once I started playing baron lane champions I really started paying attention to wave management

The benefit of freezing a lane is you can farm savely while your enemy will have to take the risk of getting ganked by your mid or jungler. The bad thing is if your enemy just ignore the wave and rotate. Meaning, dont freeze when a dragon or rift herald is up.

The risks of freezing is that like if you do it in mid for example you enemy will have more time to rome and get some kills on other lanes maybe which can make him so fed and the advantages is that he can't farm without over extending

2:07 the risk is when you want to buy items or join a clash, the minions will push the tower the benefit is you are less vulnerable to ganks especially when you are playing low mob champs. Plus the enemy can't cs unless they have a ranged attack

Let's go, this guide will help a lot of us. Edit: The risks are you not being able to rotate or follow through a fight if you want all CS gold. Also your enemy laner is probably warding your jungle.

Freezing the lane is good for keeping the creeps near your tower, making it harder for the enemy jungler to gank you and easier for your jungler to gank. The risk of freezing the creeps is that if you die, you will lose out on a lot of creeps that die to the tower. Your tower will also take a lot of damage.
