This either juvenile or female adult (we're not sure) rose-ringed parakeet was spotted among many in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The species is non-native, though not considered invasive; similar populations of non-native parrot have risen in San Francisco (cherry-headed conures), San Diego, and other cities around the world. It was a joy seeing them so close-up.

I didn't know they had those kinds of birds in the wild in the Netherlands. Quite the bird, it was really enjoying whatever those twigs were it was chewing on.

I've seen them in both the Vondelpark in Amsterdam and near the shopping mall Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht! This year, I solely went to both of those locations to go ringneck-spotting with my Canon camera and I loved every minute of it 😆
