Yes, that sound of the water dragging the pebbles up and down the beach is exquiisite, isn't it? There's nothing like it. I haven't heard it for a long time, alas. Thanks for recording it for us.
@@Takeitnomore Yes, please and thank you for your reply. I have just watched this whole video right through again. It's wonderful, especially those pebbles rolling up and down the narrow little inlet.
I can not explain how much I relate to this video .wild swimming in the sea no tight wet suit just yourself and nature. in this video you truly captured the beauty of nature swimming 🌊🏊🏼♀️🧜🏽♀️
@@mariannacoleman3432 I bike into town from my house in Napier, New Zealand. I bike along a stony and exposed beach where you can always hear the roaring sound of shingle moving in the waves.
Beautiful words and images! The honesty and the raw/ inconclusive aspect of your storytelling is inspiring and a big relief from the world always telling us what to do, think and feel.
There is something magnetic about the sea and sea shores, especially in such beautiful surroundings. You've captured the beauty, isolation, peacefulness all truly therapeutic ... right up to the point when you jump into near freezing water. Brave lassie, but a great video, thanks.
Your comments on your shifting mood in the context of such a setting were moving. Listening to you describe the swift transition of your state of mind in such a positive way on a frigid beach was hypnotic in good way. Love your work!!
Beautiful, thank you. I have often been asked about the great sadness and nostalgia that we have in some of our music and that can be felt by free spirited old souls. For those of us who are Highland Scots I have always believed in my memories and feelings that tell me what my wise men used to speak about on certain occasions, we have a memory of the last Golden Age. May it soon return. Thank you again for sharing my childhood with me 💙
Thank you for a great video. I respect you a lot for sharing your low moments as well as your highs. You don't see that on social media very often but that's real life. I hope the swim managed to lift you up. X
Thanks for sharing your feelings about feeling low. It makes you human. Many of us have those feelings and it's good to hear you talk about them. We cannot be "shiny happy people" all the time. Somehow we have to keep going even through the bad patches. Sooner or later, things will start to look up again.
Alexandra, your videos are sublime. They are relaxing, mesmeric and like a whole other level of meditation. So envious. My kind of world. What it is to be young and free and in love in nature.
Hullo Alexandra. I've just discovered your channel. So now binge watching to catch up. I had the privilege of renting a cottage on the Isle of Lewis, 3 years ago, before the world went mad. Love the isolation, the ruggedness of the Outer Hebrides. Having seen 75 summers, I don't think I'm hardy enough to swim in the sea in those temperatures. Yes in my teens I have swum in a mountain lake at 2500ft altitude, during our Nz winter. Not anymore though. . Loving your channel. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for taking the time to upload. Atb from down here in Nz. Take care.
Subscribing to your channel after only two videos. You are a storyteller. My wife and I have explored Scotland but not to the degree you have. Not as adventurous as I used to be but your videos are and inspiration. Thanks again.
I’m so glad your video found me. I could feel myself calming inside as it played, heart rate slowing and anxiety disappearing. I know the feelings that you have shared all too well. The anticipation of setting off, the first sight of the water takes me back to my childhood, “I can see the sea!” we would shout after a short, or sometimes long, drive in my parents car. Giving myself up to the cold water, completely, in that moment, then feeling it gradually wrap around you like a warm blanket, or like a hug from a loved one. Then walking out and feeling the, once cool breeze, now warm air on your skin, the soles of your feet connecting with the sand as they did thousands of years ago for our ancestors. Then the joy of warming up, a hot drink, a sweet treat, again, like you’re being hugged. Then just sitting. Calm. At peace. Just looking at the vistas, hearing the ocean even more. Simplicity.
I will not lie. I have always bathed in tropical waters, but Scotland will change my heart. I too enjoy surrendering to the ocean waters. The unique sensation of cold dips is so good for blood flow and the skin. Thank you so much for answering my curiosity about Scottish waters. As I watched the end while you were purging sadness, I knew that another dip would reawaken emotional awareness in the best of ways.
This video just came up in my feed... I can't believe how beautiful this beach and the water was; Scotland certainly is surprising. And I love your accent, very sweet, cheers from Australia.
Superb. What a mood you create, soothing voice, relaxing imagery and sea sounds galore! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Loved it. Thanks for sharing such deep reflection. My kind of soothing. 👍👍😁
So beautiful and the description of swimming in wild waters. We did this in our younger years. Skinny dipping in the cold rivers. Deep and beautiful film.
Fantastic to see you dance so joyously at the end of the video. There is certainly something special about skinny dipping. You were in fact wearing a bathing suit, it's called skin, and the human body is something special and beautiful.
I once as a child went swimming in Scotland, a beautiful beach and sunny. My Mum remembers me coming out of the sea with blue legs. I now live in Queensland.
I share your love for being in wild waters! I don't care for chlorinated pools, but a salt water pool I can enjoy as well. I am a earther that practices grounding as well. Thanks for sharing your story!
I've watched your video again because another viewer replied to a comment of mine and reminded me of the noise the sea and rocks made. I know the lows that you go through and wish we all had the courage and a very cold sea to run into during those periods. Blessings.
Found your channel and I'm totally mindblown by the raw beauty of your creations. The visuals, the words, the inspiration you share with us. Wow! ~francesca
What a beautiful place. I've not been wild swimming since my teens but think I should try it again. I'm not feeling as hardy as you so will wait for warmer weather🤣
I really enjoy watching your videos Alexandra. Just discovered your channel today. Have subscribed :) You also have a very calming and serine voice that comes from a very honest space that makes your creations very beautiful. Thank you for sharing, umesh :)
I am a naturist; I am a country-lover but combining those in freezing-cold weather is far too much for me. Well-done - great to see some hard-core enthuiasts exist. But, being a coward, I'll wait for summer. Good video - and chnnel, thank you.
Thank you!! :D It might not look that way in the video but... it definitely does take me some time to convince myself to jump into the sea in the colder months as well! I just know that once I got over the initial shock I will love it.
at 73 I have lived an interesting life with lots of wonderful experiences but when I watch these kind of videos I start to wonder about simple experiences I have not had....strange experience
If water is under 15 degrees, I don't think anybody will feel comfortable after 15 minutes swim! A night swim in the sea is rather interesting, but only in the tropical sea!
My wife and I did this at the BATHES on Virgin Gorda. Our boat was anchored in the little harbor. I kept her nude all weekend. She was 27 and absolutely gorgeous.
Just say thank you Lord God for your creation and blessing us with your beauty. Thank you Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the creator of heaven and earth and peace.
