The indigenous people fought each other and took over each others territory depending who was stronger. When the Europeans came some tribes allied with them to defeat their enemies. In the end , the Europeans proved to be the strongest so they took most of the territory. How is that different to what the indigenous people were doing before the arrival of the Europeans ?
