18:11 that first cast to boats is always hairy! I remember I was fishing marsworth's grand union canal one night and had a fish in the night and needed to recast, found the tape marker on the mainline and clipped up, aimed the cast and over headed it out, silenced followed by an almighty bang, It had come out the clip and the lead landed on the roof of the a barge with what was the loudest noise I'd ever heard. It boomed, echoing off all the other moored boats. Luckily either they were fast asleep or it was empty, I started gently pulling back only for it to catch on something. it was pitch black there was boats moored everywhere and night fishing wasn't allowed. You can imagine the scene. Eventually I got a different angle on it and it came free and I went on to catch a 26lb mirror the next night from there. Love the canals!
Fair play to you, I can’t deal with the minus conditions anymore im not really well enough but used to do lots years ago. I like that i can watch you do it though from the comfort of my sofa 😂
Rather you than me Jim 😂 used to do that myself in coldest Lancashire when I was younger, wouldn’t catch me doing that now I’m older though but fair play to you, you persevered and caught a beauty, thanks for the video keep em coming 👏👏👏
Brilliant once again mate - Joan had to turn the heating up watching it 😁😁 I thought "he's going to blank on this one!" and then you came up with that cracking mirror - well done Jimbo!!!!!
Love your vids, proper fishing. Glad you got one at the end. I agree with what you say about the cold, you need to get your body used to it. Wild conditions those though, respect.
Your enthusiasm jim is always contagious, love it! Wonderful big fish in not great conditions is always the dream. Great vid man, not far away now from a bit warmer temps and some good spring fishing. I hope your doing well fella 👍
Cheers Brian..top man for saying 👏🏻👍🏻🎣 looking forward to seeing a few of your vids once your spring fishing gets started. The places you fish are spectacular 💪🏻
@jim_lightfoot definitely look forward to sharing them. It's been an early spring for the most part here, but still touch and go with the weather at the moment. Like most springs anymore.
Blimey Jim you are making me feel cold if l was out all night in that cold I wouldn't be able to move for about two weeks tight lines mate from Gary on the Isle of wight
