This guy was actually fairly non intrusive. I recently watched the Stamp vs Rodriguez match, and the ref was so far up their crotches they could barely get a 3 hit combo going without him interrupting...this is my problem with Muay Thai. It's so steeped in tradition...They keep asinine rules and regulations just because it's traditional... It also didn't help that match was pretty boring... Rodriguez may be a snack... but she's a fairly by the book fighter, and stamp looked like she was both bored and out of shape...🤷🏻‍♂️

Jamet Todd did get some amazing kicks in. But Rodrigues was more accurate overall. Both ladies are very very tough.

Yeah! At one point, early in the bout, I thought that Todd might have had an effective lower leg strike against Rodrigues because when Todd attacked the same leg in the same location right after the first blow, it looked like Rodrigues favored the leg for a few seconds. But, instead of continuing the attack on the leg, she decides to go upstairs with the high leg attacks on the torso or head to match her much younger opponent's relentless attacks in the same regions. She began fighting Rodrigues' fight. Rodrigues was constantly pressing forward and striking. Only two ways to deal with this type of tactic: • Your timing, while your opponent is moving forward, has to be perfect for the counters. • Or you can backpedal. Unfortunately, Todd chose the latter of the two options and it didn't go well for her. Good matchup nonetheless.

Maybe I don't understand the rules correctly but why does the ref keep breaking them up 5 seconds into the clinch? Isn't clinching allowed in Muay Thai as long as both fighter are staying active?

I think this is a One Championship thing, it is more common with pure Muay Thai competitions for them to clinch for much longer.
