In April of 1996, I jumped in the river on my in laws property in Livingston MT and got eaten by fire ants! The milky way was as visible as a NASA photo from the Hubble telescope. The wind would tear the skin off your face, the magpies made me laugh. A wolf smelled our top ramen cooking and came out of the bushes only to quietly disappear. The skinny elk just layed under a tree at the post office, not afraid of people. The bison made a traffic jam on the road. We were lucky someone shared their campground with us as we didn't know we had to make reservations. The springs were so beautiful. Old faithful used to erupt every half hour.

Wow, what an incredible experience! That sounds like a true adventure in the wilds of Montana. From fire ants to the Milky Way lighting up the sky, you really captured the raw beauty and unpredictability of nature. The image of a wolf drawn to the smell of Top Ramen, and then silently disappearing, is so vivid-it must have been a moment of awe and tension. The laid-back elk and bison creating traffic jams, plus the magpies making you laugh, all paint such a lively and dynamic picture of the wildlife there. It's also good that you managed to find a campsite despite not having a reservation-those lucky moments can really make a trip! The hot springs must have been a perfect contrast to the rugged wilderness, and it’s wild to think how much things like Old Faithful's eruption schedule have changed over time. What a trip filled with nature’s wonders! 🌲🌌

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's true that animals often attack humans due to survival instincts or hunger. However, some species might attack to defend their territory or because they feel threatened, not just because they are hungry. This shows that animal behavior is complex and not solely about feeding. I hope you'll continue supporting the channel and sharing more interesting perspectives!

What salmon in Yellowstone do those grizz eat??
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 6 дней назад
Grizzly bears in Yellowstone primarily eat cutthroat trout, not salmon. The native Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) is a critical food source for grizzlies, especially during the spring when the fish spawn in shallow waters. These fish are found mainly in Yellowstone Lake and its tributaries. Thanks for the question! If you’re enjoying the content, don’t forget to subscribe for more wildlife info.

@wildnatureus2024 4 дня назад
@@ReshaudMcKenzie Thanks for your question! Actually, grizzlies in Yellowstone don’t eat sockeye salmon since they don’t live in that area. Instead, they primarily feed on Yellowstone cutthroat trout, especially in Yellowstone Lake and surrounding rivers. These fish are a key food source for the bears during spawning season.

@wildnatureus2024

Looks like you noticed that eagle! 🦅 If you're talking about its sounds or movements, it could be calling to its mates or defending its territory. And if you think it seemed like it had a cold, that's a funny joke! 😂 Eagles are usually very healthy and can withstand harsh weather, so it's probably just doing what eagles do!

There are no Red Wolves in Yellowstone so I'm wondering why they are shown in this video.
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 4 дня назад
You're correct-there are no red wolves in Yellowstone National Park. The wolves in Yellowstone are actually gray wolves, which were reintroduced to the park in the 1990s. Red wolves are a different species, native to the southeastern United States, and their populations are critically endangered. If red wolves were shown in the video, it might have been an error or an attempt to illustrate a point about wolves in general. Thank you for catching that and bringing it to our attention! We'll make sure to clarify this in future content to avoid any confusion. 👍

Caught one major error: it states internal pack disputes are often deadly and 30% of wolves die from this in Yellowstone. This is wrong in fact internal pack disputes very very rarely end in death. The 30% number is in reference to pack conflicts: ie battling other packs.
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 18 часов назад
Thanks for pointing this out! Indeed, internal disputes within wolf packs rarely result in deaths. 30% of deaths are actually due to conflicts between different wolf packs, not within packs. This information is important to understand wolf behaviour in the wild better. I will pay more attention to providing more accurate information in the future. 34:26 that’s not a bald eagle sound
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 2 дня назад
Thank you for your comment! The sound many associate with the bald eagle is often actually from the red-tailed hawk. In movies or shows, the hawk's call is often used instead because the real bald eagle's sound is softer and less "majestic" than expected. Hope you'll keep supporting the channel!
@AwenyddGryffin
@AwenyddGryffin 3 дня назад
Wow, did you seriously overlay a redtail hawk's scream to footage of bald eagles? That's really disappointing in a so called educational documentary. Bald Eagles don't scream, the squeaky sound is their only call. Shameful.
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 3 дня назад
Thank you for pointing that out! 🦅 You’re absolutely right-bald eagles have a much softer, more high-pitched call compared to the scream of a red-tailed hawk. Overlaying the hawk’s scream over footage of bald eagles is indeed misleading, especially in an educational context. Your attention to detail is appreciated, and we’ll make sure to correct these kinds of mistakes in the future to maintain the accuracy and integrity of our content. 🙏 Thanks again for your feedback, and please keep sharing your insights with us!

Great video, except for the use of alternative video that doesn't represent Yellowstone. Also, the constant re-use of video clips doesn't add any value. Finally, climate change is natural, and wildlife will always adapt. Bringing up climate change is not helpful. Things like forest fires in Yellowstone are generally caused by a) the refusal of the parks service to allow people to use the deadfall (fire fuel) and b) the constant fighting of forest fires, a natural occurrence that many species of evergreen trees require to regenerate (won't seed until a fire).
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 4 дня назад
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊 I appreciate your perspective on the use of alternative footage and repeated clips in the video-it’s important for us to know how viewers feel about these editing choices. Your feedback will help improve future content by ensuring that all visuals accurately represent the subject matter and remain fresh and engaging. 🎥✨ Regarding climate change and forest fires, I understand your point of view. While wildlife is incredibly resilient and adaptive, the discussion around climate change aims to highlight how rapid changes can impact ecosystems in unprecedented ways. As for forest fires, you're right-fire is a natural process, and in many cases, it plays a vital role in the regeneration of certain tree species. Mismanagement and policies can sometimes exacerbate these situations. It’s a complex issue, and I appreciate your input in broadening the conversation. 🔥🌲 Thank you again for your thoughtful comment! I live near Yellowstone. The grizzly bear population has exceeded the target number to be removed from the endangered list. There are bears being seen in places they haven't been seen in decades, which means there are so many that territory is at a premium in the entire greater Yellowstone ecosystem. From what I know about the park, access points and it's seasons, and hunters and game wardens, I highly doubt anyone is shooting cougars in the park. First of all, like the video said, the things are ghosts, you could hang out in Yellowstone for 10 years and never see one. You'd need dogs, and that would be difficult to pull off without being noticed or leaving too much evidence. I don't doubt there's a small number of poachers, but if you shoot a gun in the park, and someone hears it, you're going to get some attention.
@wildnatureus2024
@wildnatureus2024 День назад
Thank you for sharing your perspective and detailed information about the animal situation in Yellowstone! Grizzly bears are becoming more numerous, leading to increased competition for territory among the animals. You are right about the Cougars! They are tough to spot because of their mysterious nature and how they move like "ghosts". Poaching in the park is also strictly controlled, and as you said, any gunshots will be noticed immediately. Protection and supervision must come from rangers and people like you who live near the park and know the environment. Hopefully, this attention and close supervision will help maintain the balance of this ecosystem! 🌲🐻🦁
