The last time Izzet was a good standard pair was Kaldheim which had one of the best dragons of all time and a playable time warp so yea it kinda takes absurd sorts of cards to enable that color pair.

Legendary as an upside is interesting! Don't they use that as a way to make a creature more powerful though? That being the upside itself?

UR Spells and UG ramp simply don't work in current limited because of the blatant power creep. Why do fun durdly things when you can just play hyper efficient 1-3 drops and smash face? The GW deck is pretty straight forward.
