Wildcat POV (2024 Front Row, 4K), Gravity Group Precut Track Added to Classic Lake Compounce Coaster

95 years old?? Absolutely wonderful. Really wild ride for the age.

I don’t think, given its history and impact on the coaster world, that you will ever see Boulder Dash RMC’d. it is such an icon, and even with how rough it’s running, people line up like crazy to ride it on a busy day. They are doing the same multi-phase approach as Wildcat is getting to the titan tracking of Boulder Dash and the portioned that have already done feel so great. So once that is all done, I’d say this park would be in perfect condition to gear up for a new coaster.

It is much smoother and has some air now.

I road it yesterday. Definitely a lot smoother than I remember in 2006 at my class trip. Definetly smoother and a tiny bit faster too

The first 3/4 are smooth now, but the finale is still rough since they haven't retracked it yet.

They plan to repaint this in the future. They couldn't before the season since the wood was new.

@@CanobieCoaster most classic coasters are painted, red, white, and blue; the same colors found on the American Flag but when that time ever comes for Wildcat they should painted it in orange, white, and black.

@@CanobieCoaster that’s probably the best thing anyone has said about this coaster in nearly 40 years. If I can just get out and ride it again, it will no longer be my least favorite coaster

Coaster Express is my least favorite wood coaster again. There are some worse steel coasters.

The 2017 retrack is what made the ride so rough. They messed something up and made it even worse than it was before

It helped immensely.

If I were a park owner, I’d hold off and see how the vertical track rides in a few years. I’ve seen too many retrackings that seem awesome at first, then go all to hell.

It's actually fun now.

It's going slow at that point, so it doesn't hurt. The first 3/4 are now smooth and running better than ever.

Everything until the end is smooth now. The end is bumpy, but the train is going slow at that point so it's more comical than painful.

@@r.c.ekingston I know it’s still a wooden coaster but wooden roller coasters aren’t supposed to be that rough even great American scream machine at Six Flags over Georgia isn’t that rough

The new wood rides extremely well.

It’s really interesting, the new sections feel like a completely different ride, I wish the whole ride was that good!

Yeah if you just showed me a clip of that last new track section, I would think I was looking at a new GCI or something lol

I want good rides. This preserved the wood nature while making it enjoyable.

That's a Coney Island (Cincinati) Wildcat. Both were designed by Herbert Paul Schmeck around the same time.

Similar but different.

When did you ride it? They retracked 75% of it this year.
