❤ Jess, I don't care what channel I am watching from but when you speak your words of poetry and of God I have to say it is truly beautiful and always touches my heart and soul.

Jess seeing this while you are on a break from doing ROOTS and REFUGE while Jackson graduates. It is truly a blessing to see where you and your family and farm are now.

I can relate. I have epilepsy. Years ago I believed God could heal me. I contacted 2 elders at my church. We fasted and prepared to come together to have them lay hands on my head and pray for me. I stopped taking my seizure medication and i had a gran mal seizure. I was devastated because i believed if i did all the right things to be healed by God. I sat in church the next Sunday and the Spirit of God washed over me and asked me, "If you have epilepsy the rest of your life, will you love me and serve me?" I wept, and I surrendered to Him. I told him, Yes. It's difficult!

I have watched all of your Root and Refuge videos on You Tube. You two save my life every video. I have learned so much about gardening. I am 65 and live in Northeast Texas on a sand and quarts rock quarry. I grew up in the black soil of West Virginia. I was a retail manager for 40 years. Lived all over the Great United States of America. My work ended here in Texas by owning two restaurants. I know how you feel about the green. I waited on customers all my life. I loved it. God was good in giving me so many customers. But the 15-minute lunch break and late night clean up did my body in. I have Hypertensive High Blood Pressure and I have poor vision. You two brought me the green, the comfort and solitude of growing healthy food. I am still alive today because of that. You taught me how to grow in the worst soil. That is hard to do. You two make me feel nothing is impossible to accomplish. I wish I had that knowledge back when I was training employees all my life. Thank you both so much for finally enriching my health and taking the stress away. And teaching me how a garden can really change the stresses in a person's life. I think it comes from the green and that makes us enjoy what God has given us. Thank You Two with all my heart and God Bless.

Oddly enough, i was just thinking to myself yesterday that i could really use a Devotional video from Jess right now. Life has been really tough these last few months and she has been my refuge and inspiration to push forward. Also, while doing it as graceful as she does. Learning that my PCOS is in the middle of a flair up; a mass/cyst on my ovary, as well as learning I have a mass on my kidney. It's as though God is telling me its time for rest and its time to educate myself within my classroom i have available to me. Jess, you are a fantastic leader/teacher (even if it is not your 'intention') and I would like to thank you for your vulnerability, humility and grace. Just thank you! 💛🙏

Jess...I was listening to your story while you're taking a break from YT and I was reminded of a song that meant a lot to me 9 years ago when going through a difficult time. The song is 'Tell Your Heart to Beat Again' by Danny Gokey. The story behind the song is amazing and filled with God's power of healing, mercy, and grace. Take the time to breathe and allow God to touch the places that have been hidden or protected from Him. He is the healer...it takes time but true and complete healing is His dream for you...for all of us.

If the garden hadn't died and you had not moved in the summer, you would not have been 'at rest" to be able to see that you needed to heal yourself physically. God is good Jess; you are loved and cared for always. What a story.

Jess, in November I had diagnostic surgery, and they took major cysts from my ovaries, and removed my tubes. My diagnosis was endometriosis. It is invasive, and upsetting. I'm sorry you're going through this. People need to allow women to share these stories. It's a lot.

Not sure how I got to this video but you literally just described by current life. He can but why is he not??? Man that’s a struggle. Pain is so not fair but I know in my core there is a reason & that all things work together for good to them that love Him.

Hi Jess, we’re long time viewers, but just now watching this episode. One has to appreciate the transparency that you share. I’m 65 and had to live with pain all my life from a degenerative disc in my back, and there are days I wonder how to function. But! One thing is certain, God is Faithful! And He remains faithful to that which I have committed unto Him. Here you talk of the brokenness and the broken pieces that one tries to hide, but. Remember Paul’s shipwreck in Acts 27? He tells the captain to run the ship a ground, then tells all aboard to swim to safety, those who cannot swim, to grab a hold of the broken pieces of the ship to make it safely to shore. As leaders in our communities, we need to allow others to see our vulnerabilities at times so that they too can grab ahold of the broken pieces to make it safely a shore. You’re doing awesome! Continue in your endeavors, and God will continue to provide peace, strength, comfort, healing, wisdom and courage to lead others. B Blessed young lady.

I always had the attitude if something medical happened to me. I don’t WHY ME I think WHY NOT ME. Other people have had so much worse. My husband of 50 years next month has watched me in pain with a worried look. He has waited for me to be out of quite a few surgeries and has always been present. Sometimes I think that’s harder than the pain. ❤❤❤

God continues to work best when we face difficult situations. Your story touched me in a deep place. I have recently decided to take care of me, it's not easy but necessary. Thank you for sharing your story.
