Wilder Weg: De Wisent in Kraansvlak 

Moving is stressful. Not only for humans, but certainly for wild animals such as the European bison. In the spring of 2022, we moved five European bison from Kraansvlak in the Netherlands to La Serreta nature reserve in Spain. This video shows how our specialists carefully prepare these animals for transport.
The European bison is on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. This means that the species is vulnerable due to low numbers and a small gene pool. A hundred years ago, the last European bison died in the wild. Every action that contributes to species conservation, is one to protect Europe's largest living land mammal!
