Hi! Welcome to another video!
In this episode, I'm adventuring with two friends in the spectacular mountains of Slovenia! We are very close to the italian border, we left our cars in Planica, and hiked up till Kotovo Sedlo ridge, a spectacular place with a crazy view towards Mt. Jalovec, 2645m. This mountain is so sharp, it's such a perfect subject for photography and videos! In the distance I also spotted Mt. Triglav, highest mountain in Slovenia.
We spent the night in a really nice bivak located 150m below the ridge, it's such a perfect place to spend the night! I already visited this place in winter, and spent the night in the same bivak, have a look at the video to watch the HUGE difference in the landscape :) • Crazy Sunset + Alpine ...
IMPORTANT: please ALWAYS leave the bivaks clean and tidy, so they will be forever free and open to visitors.

Hi! Great video! How about Jalovec summit? Is it possible to hike or only alpine climbing? The bivak needs reservations? Tamarski Dom is a Motel too? Any camp side near to trail head?Where did you stay in Slovenia ? Thanks your help!

hello! from the bivak you can go to jalovec. the initial plan was to go there for sunrise but it would have been really long. anyway yes, I don't remember if there is an easy via ferrata or it's just a path, but it should be easy :-) no reservation for bivak. tamarski dom is a hut, don't know if they have rooms but I guess so. I live close to the slovenian border :-)

Ciao Bruno, in Slovenia non ci sono limitazioni covid sui bivacchi? Sono un po' in astinenza e se non ci sono particolari restrizioni ci faccio un pensierino :D Gran belle immagini cme sempre.

Stunning drone shots as always =) I noticed right from the beginning that it is the same location as the winter bivak video. Interesting to see it in summer! By the way, do you ever use trekking poles? I haven't seen any poles in your videos and I'm beginning to worry about your knees ;D

thanks! I just bought the poles. I never used them in my life for summer hiking but I think it's time to get used to them :) knees will say thank you in the long term

@@BrunoPisaniAdventure They really save a lot of energy going up. It's like a fourwheeldrive-mode for your body :D I just startet using poles last year, and they made a huge difference once i was used to them. Plus, gives me an upper body workout when it used to be all about my legs when trekking.

It's better to arrive in a bit earlier than sunset so you can check if there's room :) anyway, mountain people are always welcoming so as long as there's space, you can sleep on the floor or anywhere 😉

Actually, fixed biouvaks in Slovenian Alps are built for emergency cases when mountaineers are cought high up late in evening or in in bad weather and far from lodges which are intended points for overnight stays.

Like the post beneath, I stumbled on this channel recently while researching for my next trip to the Dolomite mountains. You come across as a genuinely nice guy, living the dream and clearly a gifted photographer in all disciplines. Though it goes without saying that you obviously put a great deal of physical effort and planning into achieving your objectives. @@BrunoPisaniAdventure And this is not a camp, it is an emergency shelter, predominately for climbers and also mountaineers. The bivouac is located below that particular mountain face for a good reason - there a long climbing routes in Jalovec and this bivouac serves as a shelter in time of bad weather.

Just to make it clear - mountain bivouacs or mountain shelters in Slovenia are intended to be used in EMERGENCY only, they are not intended to serve as a camping hut for tourists and hikers alike. If this would be Switzerland you would pay hefty fine for doing that. It is also forbidden to camp inside the Triglav National Park unless doing a bivouac in an emergency. There are mountain huts for that. Please respect the alpine culture.

ciao, basta che vai in un posto lontano da città o paesi e le stelle si vedono bene! in montagna oppure in posti con pochi centri abitati tipo sardegna ancora meglio ma in qualsiasi posto isolato e con poca umidità può andare bene. non deve esserci la luna in cielo. enjoy!

I like the filming and editing, but there is one thing you should know: Biouvacs in Slovenia are intended for use in case of emergency - late night high up when descent is hazardous, for sheltering in bad weather and for mountain rescue. Only exception is for alpine climbers in remote region with more than one day acces route. They are not intended for vacation seeking tourists - for that there are many thousands of beds in numerous mountain lodges across the region which cost a few euros per night.

you are right. Actually ALL bivouaks in the world are built for that purpose. In italy it's the same. But I think there is nothing wrong if you stay there overnight to take pictures at sunrise and sunset. I think I have the same right of an alpinist who wants to climb a mountain and has to stop there. I need to stay there to take pics. And tents are not allowed. I don't see any other possibility :) Hope that makes sense!

I see that as acceptable usage (with commendable tidy up). What is not acceptable are 1 week stays with bbq (seen that couple of times) and leaving trash behind. Good work Bruno!

@@BrunoPisaniAdventure The thing is that people who seldom visit the Alps might get the impression that all bivouacs are easily accessible, empty and just waiting for them to spend the night. As we know that's not always the case. I think it would be nice to show some footage where 18 people want to sleep on 8 narrow beds inside something which resembles a 'telephone booth'. Places like bivacco Luca Vuerich would make a perfect setting for a film like that ;)

@@BrunoPisaniAdventure I was in bivacco Vuerich on Sunday in August last year and it was already full at 3 p.m. 18 was the actual number of people who wanted to sleep inside (2 decided to go down and 2 eventually slept outside). Maybe everyone expects it to be full during the weekend and people decide to go there during the week :) In this part of the Alps I also remember a sleepless night in a packed Ricovero Battaglione Alpini Gemona, but those were mainly some local guys, while on Foronon del Buinz the groups were more international.

You are not supposed to go to a bivuac as a hotel it is meant as rescue shelter and you are not suposed to take drone shots in our only national park in Slovenia. Tourists who have no regards for other country laws and pristine nature really disspapoint us and will be the sole reason why such places will not be widely available in the future. You are one of those people. Everything for an insta/youtube/social media shot, right ;)
