TIP: After flattening the rudder tube ends over, heat up the point end of an awl or pick to reshape the interior of the rudder tube ends to allow the rudder line to pass through the ends. Heat just enough to reshape/widen the ends. If you leave the ends looking like the demo, you won't be able to push the supplied rudder line through. I had to do this last weekend.
from what I saw yes just move the handle to the otherside but they didn't fit it with the tubes that the control lines run through. hence this video. just my observations maybe a tech from WS wants to chime in here?
Well, my rudder control cord broke already while in use where the cord is pinched by a set screw at the rudder. I tried using tennis racquet string thinking it would be stronger but it stretches too much and was more susceptible to failing at same set screw location. Sooo..., I have ordered 25 feet of 2mm (5/64") T316 marine grade stainless steel cable wire rope hoping to fix this design short fall for good.
I ended up re-stringing with smaller 1/6" stainless cable instead of the 5/64" for less friction and it is working great. No stretch or slop and very secure. WS should take note...
Good news.... I am a lefty. My 2019 Radar 115 I picked up today now has factory installed tubes for right OR left handed rudder control install options. The only thing I had to discover for myself is that if you want to install the rudder control handle on the right side of the yak... you have to move the control line to the opposite side of the handle. There is another path opposite of the factory installed cable route that you can move the line to for right side handle operation.
